A ball used in the 2026 World Cup final and a shirt worn by Jimin of BTS during the match’s halftime show fetched $110,000 each, headlining an impressive collection of memorabilia from the tournament sold at auction.

“One Goal: An Auction to Benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” held by Christie’s Auction House, closed Wednesday after running for a week. It raised $652,630, far exceeding projections.

According to a Christie’s release, bidders from 24 nations participated in the online auction.

“The memorabilia market is so strong right now, and rare is the occasion that people can bid on things so freshly off the pitch,” Elizabeth Seigel, head of private and iconic collections at Christie’s, said shortly after the auction began.

Items worn by the members of BTS, the K-pop band who performed “Dynamite” at intermission, collectively went for $300,300, accounting for 46 percent of the auction’s total revenue. BTS items also included a scarf worn by V ($46,200), a jacket worn by Jung Kook ($46,200), pants worn by Suga ($33,000), gloves worn by J-Hope ($28,600), boots worn by RM ($19,800) and a belt worn by Jin ($16,500).

Other lots sold include a signed Lionel Messi 2026 Argentina home jersey gifted to Shakira for $66,000, a pair of fingerless goalkeeper gloves worn and signed by Madonna during her opening set ($41,800), and a pair of “Skylrk” sneakers worn by Justin Bieber during his acoustic set of “Everything Hallelujah” ($26,400).

Proceeds from the sales will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative hoping to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and soccer for children in underserved communities, supporting grassroots programs across 200 countries.

“This is a wonderful win for an important cause. Competition in our auction was as global and fierce as it was on the World Cup soccer pitch,” Julien Pradels, president of Christie’s America’s, said in a statement.

A setlist of the performances and Chris Martin’s handwritten lyrics of “One Dance” — performed by Coldplay, The Muppets, “Sesame Street” characters, Emmanuel Kelly and PS22 Chorus to close out the halftime show — sold for $15,400 as part of the auction.

“Chris Martin was so involved in the production of the halftime show; it was his idea and inspiration, and his curation brought together these global artists,” Seigel said of the Coldplay frontman.

Shakira’s outfit from the music video for “Dai Dai,” the official song of the World Cup that was also performed at the halftime show, sold for $8,240.

Spain won the World Cup final 1-0 over Argentina on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
