Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has long been an adventurous eater. Now, he’s taking his taste buds on tour.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services has launched The Real Food Show in an effort to show Americans “how you can eat the highest-quality food in this country at a very, very affordable price.” In it, Kennedy travels across America, “connecting with renowned chefs” and cooking.

The YouTube show is part of RFK Jr.‘s “Make America Healthy Again” campaign, which in January saw HHS invert its long-touted Food Pyramid. The new paradigm promotes whole & unprocessed foods, proteins and healthy fats. The initiative puts red meat, chicken, cheese, vegetables and fruits at the top and grains like bread, cereal, rice and pasta at the bottom.

Lately, it sounds like the secretary is sticking close to the top of the new pyramid and eschewing selections from the bottom.

“I am on a carnivore diet. I only eat meat or fermented foods,” Kennedy told USA Today in January. Ferments include yogurt, kimchi sauerkraut and beer.

Kennedy has long espoused alternative eating styles. His presidential campaign in 2024 brought the revelation that he once had a brain-eating worm that may have come from consuming undercooked meat on an overseas trip. He also admitted that in 2014 he placed a roadkill bear cub in his car, intending to eat it. He later placed the carcass in Central Park, a stunt he thought would be “amusing” but instead prompted days of headlines and widespread concern over the mysterious origins and grisly demise of the animal. That same year, Kennedy revealed that eating such meats was a common practice for him. “I’ve been picking up roadkill my whole life,” he said, before adding that he owns a “freezer full of it.”

In his recent speech at the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, President Trump had some fun with Kennedy’s roadkill history.

“I hope that everyone finally got to enjoy their entire, very delicious beef tenderloin,” said Trump. “Very special beef. And I want you all to know that Bobby Kennedy, who’s right here, personally ran over the cow in his car.”

On the premiere episode of The Real Food Show, the secretary is joined by chef Andrew Gruel “to demonstrate that cooking with real, whole-food ingredients can be healthy, delicious, and affordable.” Gruel and Kennedy prepare crispy salmon cakes with apple, white bean & greens salad using “everyday ingredients that fit almost any budget.”

Building on Comedy Central’s legacy of championing emerging comedians, while reestablishing the brand as a producer in the digital space, Stand-Up Selects is the latest in a long line of stand-up showcase formats from Comedy Central, which has been more or less dormant as a champion of new stand-up for some time, as live stand-up comedy company Don’t Tell Comedy has taken over the emerging stand-up scene.

Comedy Central became one of TV’s most reliable stand-up farm systems beginning in the 1990s, implementing a mix of showcases, half-hours, roasts, late-night blocks and festival tie-ins to elevate the medium. In the process, they helped launch or accelerate the careers of everyone from Dave Chappelle and Amy Schumer to Kevin Hart, Ali Wong, Hannibal Buress and many others.

Comedy Central gave a vast generation of rising headliners their first half-hour televised solo special with formats like Comedy Central Presents before transitioning to the likes of Stand-Up Featuring, which featured tighter sets from emerging and mid-career comics, built for the internet age. Generating over 143M views to date across social platforms, Stand-Up Selects‘ predecessor, Stand-Up Featuring, showcased more than 200 comics, providing them with a nice calling card and career stepping stone that is more difficult to come by these days.

While Comedy Central has been missed in the last decade so as a go-to destination for new stand-up — with the rise of Netflix and YouTube specials and the proliferation of unrelated comedic social media content — what the Stand-Up Selects launch represents for Comedy Central as a whole, post-Paramount/Skydance merger, is not yet clear.

EXCLUSIVE: HBO has ordered The Trial of Louise Woodward, a five-episode limited series based on a true story, starring two-time Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus).

Created by Matthew Barry (Industry), who is also showrunner, writer and exec producer, The Trial of Louise Woodward tells the shocking true story of how, in 1997, an 18-year-old British au pair was accused of shaking to death a baby left in her care by her American host family, setting off an international media firestorm as the trial unfolds in full view of both the British and American public.

The project brings Fahy and Barry back to HBO following their work on The White Lotus and Industry, respectively. It also marks a reunion for Fahy and Susanne Bier, who exec produces and directs all episodes, on the heels of the Netflix mystery thriller The Perfect Couple.

Barry told us, “The trial of Louise Woodward raised profound questions about childcare, working mothers, class, and the role of an emerging 24/7 media. Thirty years later, those questions feel more urgent and relevant than ever. I’m grateful to be working with Susanne and our partners at HBO to bring this story, in all its complexity, to the screen.”

Exec producers on The Trial of Louise Woodward, in addition to Barry, include Big Light Productions founder Frank Spotnitz, Emily Feller, Tobi de Graaff, and Antoine Douaihy. Production kicks off in August for an expected 2027 release.
