Published

on

EXCLUSIVE: A slew of new patients, a doctor, and a hospital executive will be welcomed to the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center on HBO Max‘s medical drama The Pitt, as 7 new actors have been cast in Season 3.

Stephen Chang (Bosch: LegacyThe Last of Us: Part II), Barry Clifton (The MadisonThe Thing About Pam), Chris Diamantopoulos (Dark MatterThe Lincoln Lawyer), Lawrence Kao (Criminal, Walker: Independence), Brent Sexton (DeadwoodThe Madison), JB Tadena (The Adventures of Cliff Booth, Kung Fu), and Hannah Ware (The FirstThe One) have joined the recurring guest star cast.

The Pitt chronicles the urgent challenges U.S. frontline healthcare professionals face through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. Offering a real-time format, the series traces, hour by hour, the medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must navigate as they reckon with an overabundance of patients and a lack of resources.

Season 3 will take place on November 12, 2026, a day after Veterans Day and a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving.

Of the new season, series star and executive producer Noah Wyle teased to Deadline, “Season 3 is about doctors benefiting from being patients. We’re going to see that [Robby]’s begun the therapeutic road; it’s had a positive effect. It’s fragile, and it’s not without risk and vulnerability, but it’s at least there’s forward progress.”

He also shared, “Weather is a factor in Pennsylvania, certainly in Pittsburgh. You sort of turn the corner into fall, and those temperatures drop. All sorts of different kinds of cases come through the doors when you’ve got slick roads: people turning on their boilers and their heaters for the first time, house fires, the homeless situation where people are out on the street and cold.
