The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Kadokawa‘s Dengeki Maoh magazine announced on Tuesday that Akane’s Puchimas! -Petit Idolm@ster- manga will end in the magazine on December 25. Kadokawa will ship the 16th and last volume at the end of February 2027.

The series depicts the overly hyper daily life of The IDOLM@STER‘s 765Pro idols — and mysterious creatures named “Puchidoru” who somewhat resemble the idols.

Akane launched the four-panel manga series in the magazine in 2008. Kadokawa shipped the 15th compiled book volume in December 2024.

The manga’s fifth, sixth10th, and 11th compiled volumes all bundled anime DVDs in 2013, 2014, March 2018, and April 2018 respectively.

Dengeki Maoh also bundled the Puchimas! Wakku Waku—!—! DVD in October 2012.

The manga inspired the PUCHIM@S net anime in 2013 and a second season in 2014. Funimation streamed both seasons and released them on DVD in 2015.

Japanese media company Link-U Group announced a new business partnership with Crunchyroll on Monday. The Link-U Group issued an third-party allotment of its shares at 856 yen (about US$5.50) per share, and Crunchyroll will acquire 917 million yen (about US$5.91 million) of those shares of Link-U. After this transaction, Crunchyroll will become the fifth-largest shareholder of Link-U with a 7.03% stake.

Link-U plans to use the investment as part of the “medium-term management plan 2030” strategy that it also announced on Monday. The plan will include expanding the distribution of manga to audiences outside of Japan through developing manga distribution platforms, and localization management.

The Crunchyroll Manga app launched on iOS and Android devices in the United States and Canada in October 2025. The ad-free app is separate from the main Crunchyroll streaming service. Crunchyroll describes the service as being “powered by Link-U Group.”  Partner publishers for the service include AlphaPolis, Compass, Square Enix, Viz Media, Yen Press, Shueisha, J-Novel Club, and ThirdlineNEXT.

Link-U operates such services as digital manga site Comikey, digital manga store Compass, webtoon company Studio Moon6, and VTuber and streaming production company Romanz. In addition to Crunchyroll Manga, Link-U has worked on Shueisha‘s MANGA Plus, Square Enix‘s Manga UP!, and similar manga services from other companies.

Game Source Entertainment describes the game:

The Seven Mysteries and the Cursed Doll Aya

In order to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of her close friend, the protagonist ‘Seira’, together with the members of the school newspaper society, ‘Tae’ and ‘Hime’, ventures into ‘U School’ late at night, a place shrouded in silence and darkness.

Set against the backdrop of U School, in addition to the ‘Seven Mysteries’ passed down through the ages, a unique and eerie urban legend is earnestly circulated amongst the students: ‘If you perform a certain ritual, the [Cursed Doll, Aya] will appear and curse the object of your hatred to death’.

To verify this urban legend, Seira and her friends performed the forbidden ritual. However, this was not the gateway to the truth, but merely the beginning of a cycle of inescapable nightmares and despair…

The game will be available in Traditional Chinense, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and English subtitles. (Game Source Entertainment also describes the single-player game’s genre as “time loop horror RTA stealth action-adventure.”

Oshikiri launched the Hi Score Girl manga in Square Enix‘s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in 2010, and ended it in September 2018. Square Enix Manga & Books published the manga in English. The manga inspired a television anime that premiered in Japan in July 2018. Netflix began streaming the show outside of Japan in December 2018.
