The mother of A2O LITE’s Aijing has issued a public apology over an unpaid wages controversy tied to a company she ran — insisting that her daughter had absolutely no involvement in the business or the dispute.

The controversy erupted just as A2O LITE — the nine-member girl group launched by Lee Soo Man’s A20 Entertainment at their October 12 debut showcase — was riding high on praise for their old-school visuals and sound. Allegations surfaced that Aijing’s parents operated an education-based company in Beijing, with her mother as legal representative and her father as auditor.
The Allegations
Employees claimed the company had been in financial trouble since 2024. After agreeing to a payment plan, Aijing’s parents allegedly paid staff for only three months before payments stopped — with one employee claiming around ¥40,000 CNY ($5,977 USD) in unpaid wages. Legal documents reportedly show the company owing around ¥3.45 million CNY ($515,529 USD).
The Apology
In her statement, Aijing’s mother accepted full responsibility: “My failure to pay [my employees] on time was a mistake that I must accept and take responsibility for. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt from my actions.” She explained that the company’s financial crisis, compounded by changes in the education industry, had delayed resolution — but stressed, “Responsibility for this lies with us, the parents, and it is our problem to resolve. Aijing has absolutely no involvement in the business or disputes.”
She added that she is in contact with those affected to discuss solutions and will “not hide from my responsibility.”
The timing is delicate: A2O LITE just scored a historic No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 with their debut track “NEON.” Whether the controversy fades or follows the group will depend on how quickly the family resolves the outstanding debts.
