Paris-based sales company MK2 Films has scooped up three short films by Brady Corbet, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Céline Sciamma, continuing its push to bring lesser-seen works by established filmmakers to wider audiences.

The acquisitions were unveiled at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon — the classic-cinema showcase headed by Cannes delegate general Thierry Frémaux — and its International Classic Film Market (MIFC), the festival’s industry side dedicated to heritage film.
Three Auteurs, Three Shorts, Nearly Two Decades
The new additions span nearly twenty years of filmmaking. The oldest is Corbet’s “Protect You + Me” from 2008, made when the future director of The Brutalist was still primarily known as an actor. It joins two recent works: Sciamma’s “Tutti Frutti,” a 40-minute film produced as part of the “Where Are You Now?” collection, and Mendonça Filho’s “South of Tehran.”
The three names make a formidable trio of contemporary auteurs. Corbet won the Oscar for Best Director for The Brutalist, Mendonça Filho has collected major Cannes prizes including Best Director and the Grand Prix for The Secret Agent, and Sciamma is celebrated worldwide for Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Petite Maman.
MK2’s Growing Short-Film Collection
The three shorts join MK2’s expanding collection of short-form work by major directors, which already includes pieces by Jia Zhangke and the Dardenne brothers. Founded in 1974, MK2 has built one of the richest arthouse catalogues in the world — over 1,000 titles stretching from Charlie Chaplin and François Truffaut to today’s most vital contemporary voices.
The company remains a key player in the awards ecosystem, with recent triumphs including Anatomy of a Fall by Justine Triet and Kleber Mendonça Filho’s own Cannes prizewinners.
