A Bank Employee With Nothing vs. a Vice President With Everything
Law of the Line pulls back the curtain on the ruthless world of corporate banking. The story follows Tak Do Il (Jang Ki Yong), a Nara Bank employee with no institutional backing or influential connections. A graduate of a regional university, Tak Do Il has little going for him on paper — but his sharp instincts, situational awareness, and negotiation skills let him shake up the bank’s entrenched power dynamics.
Standing in his way is Chun Kyung Ho (Oh Jung Se), the vice president overseeing Nara Bank’s sales group. Despite having only a high school education, Chun Kyung Ho clawed his way up the ladder and is now the leading candidate to become the bank’s next president, with considerable influence already at his command.
A Battle of Strategy
The two men come from different backgrounds and sit on different rungs of the ladder, but they collide in a complex web of competing interests over control of the bank’s management and personnel decisions. How Tak Do Il, who insists on competing on his own terms rather than joining established factions, navigates his entanglement with the ambitious vice president will be one of the series’ biggest draws.
Behind the camera, the project is stacked: direction comes from Kim Sung Yong of The Veil and My Dearest, the script is by Eun Ki Baek, and Kang Eun Kyung — the creative force behind Dr. Romantic and The World of the Married — joins as creator.
With a heavyweight cast and a behind-the-scenes dream team, Law of the Line is already one of 2027’s most anticipated Korean dramas.
