Neos has locked in October 28 as the PC launch date for Culdcept Begins, the newest entry in the long-running Culdcept strategy card series. The company confirmed the date alongside a fresh trailer showing the game in action.

The title first arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on July 16, and the Steam release finally brings it to PC players. The card-battling franchise has been going since the late 90s, so this is a notable new chapter for its dedicated fanbase.
A Franchise That Has Survived Nearly Three Decades
Culdcept is one of gaming’s quiet survivors. The original turn-based strategy card game launched for the Sega Saturn in 1997, and it kept going through PlayStation, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS releases. Few series from that era are still getting new entries today, which makes Culdcept Begins worth watching for anyone who likes their strategy games with a board game flavor.
The series blends card battling with Monopoly-style board movement, a combination that has earned it a cult following in Japan and a smaller but loyal audience in the West. Each release refines the formula without losing what made it special, and early impressions suggest Begins follows that pattern.
Culdcept Is Having a Busy Year
Interestingly, this is not the only Culdcept release of 2026. City Connection shipped Culdcept the First on July 30 for Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, so fans of the series have been spoiled this year. Two releases within months of each other shows there is still life in the nearly 30-year-old franchise.
The last major Western release was Culdcept Revolt, which launched for the Nintendo 3DS in October 2017 after a delay. It originally shipped in Japan in July 2016, coinciding with the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Nearly a decade later, Culdcept Begins marks the next step for the series on modern hardware.
With the Switch versions already out since July and the PC port landing on October 28, strategy fans do not have long to wait. The Steam page is expected to carry full details on supported languages and pricing closer to launch.
