A male influencer who allegedly spread photos of TXT’s Soobin believed to be AI deepfakes has seemingly addressed the controversy — and his vague response has only poured fuel on the fire. Netizens are demanding that HYBE take action as the situation spirals.
The Alleged Photos
Over the past days, alleged explicit photos of Soobin circulated online, with netizens convinced they were AI deepfakes targeting the idol. MOA and K-pop fans quickly rallied, calling for HYBE to take legal action against those spreading the images, warning that such claims could seriously damage his career in Korea’s notoriously unforgiving industry.
The Influencer’s Vague Response
Following the backlash, the male influencer who allegedly posted the photos made vague statements during a livestream. While he didn’t mention Soobin’s name, he claimed the photos were screenshots from a video and implied it wasn’t a one-off incident. He also claimed he didn’t know Soobin was an idol at the time — a remark that set off major fury, with netizens accusing him of using Soobin for clout and making up lies.
“Saying they had a relationship but in the same breath saying he didn’t know he was an idol at the time? Make it make sense,” one widely-shared post read, pointing to TXT’s nonstop concert and comeback schedule as proof the claim was absurd. Others were blunt: “This is absolutely clout-chasing,” and “Soobin, you need to sue these bastards — I’m so f*cking serious.”
Fans Demand HYBE Act
The controversy has renewed calls for stronger protections against deepfake content targeting idols. Fans argue the industry needs to act fast before careers are ruined by fabricated material, and the pressure is now squarely on HYBE to respond.
