Fans in North America have plenty to spend their paychecks on this week, as My Hero Academia Season 7, Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 2, and a Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 Steelbook all hit store shelves on October 20, alongside more than 40 new manga volumes from Seven Seas, Viz Media, Kodansha USA, and more.
Anime News Network’s weekly release roundup covers October 18–24, and the Blu-ray shelf is absolutely stacked. Crunchyroll is behind the biggest anime drops of the week, with My Hero Academia Season 7 leading at an aggressive $34.96 suggested price, while Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 2 lands at $79.98 and the Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 Steelbook arrives at $74.98.

My Hero Academia Season 7 and Kaiju No. 8 Lead This Week’s Anime Releases
The anime side of this week’s releases is heavy on big franchise names. Beyond the Crunchyroll trio, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 1 gets a Sentai Filmworks Blu-ray release at $69.98, and Sentai also puts out the Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling anime on Blu-ray for the same price.
The real collector prize of the week may be Aniplex of America’s Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Trilogy 4K UHD/Blu-ray, priced at $119.98. Aniplex 4K sets rarely come cheap, and a complete movie trilogy remaster is exactly the kind of shelf piece collectors wait for.
Also arriving on October 20: I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince Season 2 on Blu-ray from Crunchyroll at $69.98 and One Piece Collection 40 at a budget-friendly $29.96, which should make the long-running pirate saga’s latest collection an easy impulse buy for fans.
Blue Lock Volume 35, Apothecary Diaries Manga, and 40+ New Volumes Arrive October 20
Manga readers are spoiled for choice this week, with new volumes dropping from nearly every major English-language publisher. Blue Lock Volume 35 from Kodansha USA at $12.99 is the headline for sports manga fans, while The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao’s Notes on the Inner Palace debuts its first volume from Viz Media at $22.99.
Seven Seas has one of the busiest slates, with standouts including The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Fragments Collection Volume 2, the 100 Ghost Stories That Will Lead to My Own Death graphic novel, and Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling Volume 9, which pairs nicely with this week’s anime Blu-ray release.
Viz Media also brings Record of Ragnarok Volume 20, Undead Unluck Volume 27, and Witching Hour Volume 12, while light novel fans can grab Loner Life in Another World Novel 15 and Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord Novel 8 from Seven Seas at $15.99 each.
Rounding out the week are new volumes of The Darwin Incident, Kingdom, MF Ghost, Senpai is an Otokonoko, and the Star Wars: The Mandalorian graphic novel volumes 1–2 from Random House. If you only buy one thing this week, the My Hero Academia Season 7 Blu-ray at under $35 is hard to argue against.
