As Nobody Wants This returns to Netflix for its third season, creator Erin Foster is addressing the controversy around her leading man. Foster has responded to Adam Brody‘s recent “Free Palestine” comments on the Israel-Hamas conflict — and her answer is notably nuanced: she disagrees with him, but defends his right to say it.

Erin Foster on Adam Brody’s Free Palestine Comments: “It’s Complicated”
Speaking on an upcoming episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the creator of the 6x Golden Globe-nominated romantic-comedy explained her stance. “You know, it’s complicated. I think our work environment, our set is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing,” Foster said. “While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that’s okay.”
Foster made clear that although she disagrees with the star of her show, Brody is “entitled to a different opinion” from hers. The comments come at a sensitive moment for the production — the show’s own rabbi consultant reportedly slammed Brody as an “ignorant Jew” over his pro-Palestine support, adding another layer of tension around the season’s launch.
Nobody Wants This Season 3 on Netflix
The controversy arrives as Nobody Wants This returns to Netflix for Season 3, putting the hit rom-com’s cast and creator under renewed scrutiny. Foster’s framing — a working set that, like dinner tables everywhere, holds room for disagreement — suggests she is trying to hold the production together without silencing anyone. Whether viewers accept that balance will be one of the season’s defining off-screen storylines.
