Wound & Bandage Anime Release Date and Broadcast Details
The Wound & Bandage anime release date is January 9, when it begins airing on ABC and TV Asahi’s Animazing!!! programming block — late-night Saturdays at 26:00 (effectively 2:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings). It will also air on AT-X the same day at 11:00 p.m., with ABEMA streaming new episodes half an hour after the main broadcast.
Wound & Bandage Anime Cast and Staff
The cast stars Hisako Kanemoto as Riyo Washizu and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Gō Kiritani, with Shōya Ishige’s Ginsuke Hatobane rounding out the newly confirmed cast. Behind the scenes, Miyuki Ishida — an episode director on One Punch Man seasons 2 and 3 — is directing the series at J.C. Staff, with Susumu Yamakawa (The Way of the Househusband) writing the scripts and Natsuki Ōyama handling character designs.
The story is a romantic comedy with an unusual hook: Riyo Washizu is the daughter of a Kanto yakuza organization’s leader, and Gō Kiritani, a young subordinate, is assigned as her caretaker. He expects to babysit a docile child, but Riyo turns out to have a very specific fascination — she loves seeing strong people when they are at their weakest.
Nanai’s manga debuted on Kodansha’s Comic Days app in August 2024, and the fifth volume shipped on July 16, giving the anime plenty of material for a strong first season.
