If your reading habit keeps losing to the doomscroll, this might be the cheapest way to fight back. The Xteink X4 Classic V2 eReader is now under $80 on Amazon — just $79, according to How-To Geek — making it one of the most affordable E-Ink readers you can buy right now.
It’s not a massive discount off an already-affordable model, but at $79 it’s a genuinely cheap entry point into e-reading without ads, notifications, or the pull of a full tablet.

Xteink X4 Classic V2: Price, Specs and What’s New
The standout feature is portability. The X4 Classic V2 measures a mere 0.19 inches thick and weighs only 2.4 ounces — light enough to forget it’s in your pocket on a morning commute, in a waiting room, or on a lunch break. Its magnetic back can even clip to the back of your iPhone.
The reading surface is a 4.3-inch E-Ink display, which offers a paper-like surface with no backlit glare and — crucially — no apps competing for your attention. It comes with 12GB of storage, plenty of room for a whole library of ebooks.
Why This eReader Deal Is Worth Considering
Budget e-readers usually come with compromises — clunky software, washed-out screens, or Kindle’s ad-supported lock-in. The X4 Classic V2’s pitch is simplicity: a distraction-free device you can carry anywhere, at a price that costs less than most hardcover collections.
At $79 on Amazon, it’s positioned for readers who want a dedicated reading gadget without spending flagship money. The price point makes it an easy pick as a gift or a second reader for travel — and cheap enough that you won’t cry if it gets tossed in a bag.
Prices on Amazon can change quickly, so if you’re tempted, check the listing while the $79 price holds.
