Drew McIntyre has his eye on Hollywood’s scariest genre — but if he lands a horror movie, don’t expect him to play the monster. The WWE star says he would rather be the fearful protagonist than the villain.
McIntyre, who has been off WWE television lately while filming several acting projects both with WWE and outside it, revealed his horror ambitions in a new interview with Sidewalks Entertainment.

Drew McIntyre Horror Movie: Why He Wants To Be the Scared Hero
“Nothing particular in mind. Something horror-based, maybe. But I’m just going to take it as it comes. I just have no limitations right now. It’s just let’s see what the future holds in my wrestling career and otherwise,” McIntyre said.
Asked whether he would rather play a horror antagonist or protagonist, the 6’5”, 285-pound Scotsman went against type: “Obviously, if it was a character, like a bad guy, that’d be obviously fun and expected, perhaps. But if I was in some kind of situation, as a massive, massive human at 6’5, 285, and constantly in terror and fear, and maybe more the smaller person is the brave one. Like that sounds more fun and interesting to me.”
“I’m just looking at it like what’s the funnest thing and what’s something people aren’t going to expect,” he added.
McIntyre’s Growing Acting Career
McIntyre has increasingly split his time between the ring and the screen in recent years, working with names such as Russell Crowe and building a growing acting résumé. A horror role as the terrified hero would be a sharp twist on his imposing on-screen persona — and, by his own admission, exactly the kind of unexpected choice he is looking for.
