A 14-Year Anime Journey Comes to a Close
Date A Live has been a fixture of anime fandom for over a decade. The first season aired in 2013, followed by seasons in 2014, 2019, 2022, and the fifth season in April 2024, plus the Mayuri Judgment film in 2015 and the two-part Date A Bullet spinoff in 2020.
The story began as a light novel series by Koushi Tachibana with illustrations by Tsunako, launched in March 2011 and concluded with its 22nd volume in March 2020. Yen Press publishes the novels in English, and Crunchyroll has streamed the recent seasons with English dubs.
For fans who have followed Shido Itsuka and the Spirits since the beginning, Last Date promises a proper send-off on the big screen. With the date set more than a year out, expect more trailers and visuals as March 2027 approaches.
