Hanarabeez Short Anime Streams First Episode: Teeth Characters Get 3-Episode Series From Ribon

The Hanarabeez short anime has officially begun streaming, and its premise is exactly as delightfully strange as it sounds. The first of three episodes premiered on Monday on the official YouTube channel of Shueisha’s Ribon magazine, introducing viewers to a world where every single character is a tooth.

Created by manga artist Yukari Kaneko, Hanarabeez is one of the inaugural characters of Ribon’s Charatan Labo original character project, which launched in September 2025. Under that project, Ribon publishes four-panel manga featuring original characters every month, and Hanarabeez clearly struck a chord fast enough to earn its own animated outing.

Hanarabeez Short Anime Release Schedule

Fans will not have to wait long for the rest of the series. The second episode of the Hanarabeez short anime will stream on November 9, while the third and final episode premieres on November 24 at 12:00 noon JST. All three episodes are short-form, making this an easy, bite-sized watch for anime fans looking for something light between bigger seasonal shows.

The Ribon YouTube channel describes the series in wonderfully simple terms: all the characters are teeth, and viewers can enjoy their laid-back, cute, and slightly surreal daily lives. That mix of everyday calm and gentle absurdity is the whole appeal — there is no grand battle or looming villain here, just teeth getting on with their day.

Hanarabeez Voice Cast and Staff

Hana Sato and Yuki Urushiyama star in the short anime, while Eagle Talon creator FROGMAN will also voice a character. Benpineko, known for work on MonHun Nikki Girigiri Airu-mura, is directing the anime at studio DLE, a studio with plenty of experience in short, punchy comedy animation.

That combination of a proven short-form studio and a genuinely original hook gives Hanarabeez a real chance to stand out. Original character projects often stay confined to magazine pages, but Ribon’s decision to animate Hanarabeez so soon after the Charatan Labo launch suggests the character already has a fanbase worth building on.

For now, episode one is the perfect introduction: short, sweet, and just weird enough to make you curious about what these teeth get up to next. Mark November 9 and November 24 on your calendar if you want to catch the full trilogy as it drops.
