Back on July 27, Rusev faced Je’Von Evans in a singles contest and quickly left the ring after the loss. Fightful Select reported his absence was injury-related, and in early September CJ Perry confirmed he had been cleared for a return to the ring.

Rusev Explains WWE Raw Injury and Illness

“Good. I’ve been out for what, two or three months or whatnot. Yes, I did get kicked in the head, my hands went numb. Felt better, finished the match,” Rusev told TMZ Inside The Ring. “Then, I got a little sick after that. I don’t believe it was related. But then, I’ve been ready. I’ve been good for about two months, I’m just waiting to go back to TV.”

He described resuming training at NXT and his own Kech Academy school in Nashville, before getting the call to wrestle at WWE’s live events in Hawaii. “Spent three days in the beach, two great live events, sold out. It was just tremendous,” he said. “Got to beat Joe Hendry’s ass” on night one, then teamed with Page against Chad Gable and Rey Mysterio on night two.

When Will Rusev Return to WWE TV?

Rusev says he’s been ready for about two months and is just waiting for the call to return to television. With reports of plans involving a new stable with Ethan Page and Big Cass, the Bulgarian Brute’s comeback could be a significant moment for the Raw roster.
