Mina Shirakawa has made her next goal clear: she wants to become a champion in CMLL. Ahead of her match at the lucha libre promotion’s October 30, 2026 show, Shirakawa told Fightful’s Luis Pulido that a title run in Mexico is firmly on her mind.
Shirakawa faced India Sioux on the October 30 card, and when asked about her aspirations in CMLL, she said she hopes a strong run of wins earns her a shot at championship gold.
Shirakawa Wants a CMLL Title Shot After October 30 Win
“Hmm, if I win that much, of course I hope. I will get the opportunity to challenge for something, or a belt should I win that match on this Friday,” Shirakawa said. “I want to wrestle in Mexico more and more, and finally, I want to be a champion in CMLL.”
Her comments signal she sees the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship picture — and Mexico’s lucha libre scene more broadly — as a serious next chapter rather than a one-off appearance.
What a CMLL Championship Run Would Mean
Shirakawa is already one of the most well-travelled stars in women’s wrestling, and a CMLL title would add Mexico’s most historic promotion to her resume. With fans continuing to follow her cross-promotional run, a championship challenge could be one of CMLL’s most marketable angles heading into the end of the year.
