Mina Shirakawa says she is honored to be chosen as the international opponent for India Sioux at CMLL’s October 30 show, where the two go one-on-one in Mexico City. Speaking to Fightful’s Luis Pulido, Shirakawa admitted she has her eye on more than just the match — she is “so curious” about the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship that Sioux holds.

“I know she is very strong; she is very tough, and she loves a hard-hitting match because I saw that her match against Queen Aminata was very hard-hitting, and I also love hard-hitting matches. So I’m so excited to wrestle her,” Shirakawa said.

Shirakawa Honored as “International Star”

Shirakawa, one of STARDOM’s most recognizable exports, said being hand-picked as Sioux’s opponent is a mark of respect: “I’m very honored because she sees me as an international star, so I am very, very grateful, and very, very excited for this Friday.”

The CMLL Japan Women’s Championship being in play — at least in Shirakawa’s sights — adds real stakes to the bout. Sioux’s clash with Aminata set the template: hard-hitting, physical, and exactly the style Shirakawa says she thrives in.

An International Crossover Worth Watching

Cross-promotional matches like this have become one of the most exciting corners of women’s wrestling, with stars from Japan, the US and Mexico trading across borders. Shirakawa vs. Sioux at CMLL on October 30 looks like a stiff, high-level affair — and if the Japan Women’s Championship comes into play, it could be even bigger.
