Rohan Raja still can’t quite believe what he witnessed at MLP Northern Rising on October 3 — an arena full of fans screaming for Andrade El Idolo to take his pants off before their singles match even started.

Speaking with Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast, Raja recalled the bewildering moment when the crowd went electric anticipating Andrade’s signature tear-away pants reveal.
“What A World We’re Living In Today”
“I consider myself a little bit lucky. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something — even when he’s just walking around, the crowd are just straight up drawn to a man’s pants,” Raja said. “I’m in the ring and obviously you’re listening to everything. I just kinda stopped — it was maybe like a millisecond but it felt like ten seconds, just letting it register. I’m like, there’s probably about maybe 5,000 people screaming to take his pants off. What a world we’re living in today. Nowhere else but wrestling you could hear that.”

Raja joked that Tommaso Ciampa got the “very mystical powers of the pants,” adding that he felt lucky to share the ring with El Idolo on the Maple Leaf Pro show. Elsewhere in the interview, Raja also spoke about his relationship with WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.
