James Wan and Jason Blum Unveil New Company Name: Blumhouse Atomic

Horror titans James Wan and Jason Blum have unveiled a new umbrella title for their merged production companies: Blumhouse Atomic. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will continue to operate as distinct labels, with their creative teams developing film and TV projects under each banner.

Blumhouse Atomic: What the Merger Brings Together

“When we merged our companies, we believed the whole would be greater than the sum of its parts and that is exactly what has happened,” said Jason Blum, Co-Founder of Blumhouse Atomic. The merger, finalized in January 2024, united the minds behind The Conjuring, Insidious, Saw, M3GAN, The Purge and Get Out under one roof.

Blum singled out one landmark move in particular: bringing Saw back to Wan, with a new chapter on the way, calling it “a perfect example of what we can do together.” As Blum put it: “No filmmaker has created more horror franchises than James Wan, and together we’ve brought some of the genre’s most recognizable properties under one roof.”

Blumhouse Atomic Passes $1 Billion at the Box Office

The timing of the rebrand follows a blockbuster run: Blumhouse-Atomic Monster releases passed $1 billion at the box office in 2026 alone — the second time the combined labels have crossed that mark since merging. Blumhouse Atomic Monster released a combined 10 films in 2026, including seven theatrical releases and three straight-to-digital titles, plus five TV series.

Going forward, the company promises “the output of a studio with the creative freedom and financial discipline of an independent company” — with more opportunities to take horror beyond theaters into television, games and live experiences.
