“My child is five years old now. It’s challenging, but he is so beautiful and loving,” Changmin said, giving viewers a rare glimpse into his daily life as a father.
The notoriously private singer revealed how his son, who takes after his looks, was spotted by a company staff member on the street. The staffer, who had never met the boy before, reached out to Changmin’s manager saying, “I think I saw Changmin’s son.” Changmin admitted the resemblance is real.

One of the most endearing moments came when Changmin explained that he teaches his son that while his real name is Shim Chang Min, he goes by Max Changmin when working. “I keep letting him know that I go by the name of Max Changmin when I’m working,” he said. “I’m not sure if he’s fully grasped that, but apparently, once he told his teacher, ‘Could you please play “Maniac” by Max Changmin?'”
Changmin admitted he didn’t expect his son to show off, “but it turns out he does have that side to him” — a confession that had fans gushing online. “Changmin finally sharing stories about his son, my heart is melting,” one fan wrote. Another added: “The child we once watched over has grown up well and is raising his own child now!!”
Changmin married a non-celebrity in 2020 and welcomed his son in October 2022. After years of keeping his family life firmly private, his growing openness about fatherhood marks a new chapter — and fans are clearly here for it.
