PS5 version will have rollback netcode, cross-play with PC, 4 new text languages

Arc System Works Europe revealed on Saturday that its Blazblue: CentralFiction fighting game will get a release on the PlayStation 5. The PS5 version will include rollback netcode, cross-play with PC, four new text languages (French, Italian, German, and Spanish), and new features in Training Mode.

Arc System Works had teased a new DLC character for the game during the EVO 2026 event in June, and revealed a few days later the new character is Trinity Glassfille. The character will be the first new character to join the game since the character Jubei debuted in 2017.

Trinity Glassfille will be available only on the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game. The announcement in June did not mention the new character’s availability for the arcade, PlayStation 3, or Switch versions of the game.

Arc System Works America added on Saturday the PS5 version release is scheduled for after the “TRINITY -PHASE 3-” update.

Blazblue: CentralFiction originally debuted in Japanese arcades in November 2015, and the game launched in Japan for the PS4 and PS3 in October 2016. Aksys Games released the game in North America in November 2016. The Switch version shipped in February 2019.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect, a side-scrolling roguelite game, launched with its early access version on Steam in August 2023. The full release launched in January 2024 for PC via Steam. The game’s BlazBlue Entropy Effect X version launched for the PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S on February 12.

Hulu announced on Friday that it will stream the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus television anime series in the United States on October 11.

The series will begin airing on the Fuji TV channel and its affiliates on October 11 at 11:15 p.m. JST (10:15 a.m. EDT), taking over the timeslot of the One Piece anime, which aired its last episode for this year on September 27. The series will also stream on Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT streaming services in Japan 30 minutes after its broadcast at 12:15 a.m. JST.

Crunchyroll will simultaneously stream the anime in Japanese with English subtitles on October 11 in the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

Netflix will also stream the series in the U.S. on October 17, and Netflix is listing the series to start streaming on October 14 in selected areas/countries.

The first episode also screened in advance at the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Special Panel at New York Comic Con on Thursday.

The staff for the new anime includes:

The anime will again feature Kōichi Yamadera as Beerus.

MEGATERA・ZERO performs the opening theme song “ONOGAMI,” and VK Blanka performs the ending theme song “Kan Peki No Peki.”

Akio Iyoku stated the work started a few years ago and is an “enhanced” edition of the Dragon Ball Super anime that features a reconstruction of the story, and includes new and redrawn cuts.

The official announcement of the anime stated:

The project features extensive new cuts, revisions to existing scenes, a complete re-rendering of all footage, newly recorded dubbing with added score and sound effects, and a full reconstruction of the story. Living up to the name ENHANCED, this edition employs the latest visual expression to deliver greater power and immersion across all scenes, especially the battle sequences. The result is an ENHANCED edition that expresses Akira Toriyama‘s original idea and worldbuilding more accurately, that will be broadcasted with highly satisfying quality.

The anime staff stated, “the anime Dragon Ball Super … is set to begin anew as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in Fall 2026.”

The staff describes the story:

Several years have passed since the fierce battle against Majin Buu, and Earth has finally regained a brief moment of peace. At the same time, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long, deep sleep. Even Kai and Supreme Kai, aware of Beerus’s overwhelming power to destroy entire planets, watch his awakening with great fear… Meanwhile, Beerus hears rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza—and suddenly appears before Goku.Targeted by Beerus, the strongest being in the universe, Earth is in grave danger. Thus begins an Earth-shattering cosmic battle between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies—a conflict that will shake the entire universe.

Dragon Ball Super premiered in July 2015 and aired for 131 episodes until March 2018. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation released the series on home video. Funimation debuted the English dub to its streaming service in December 2016. The English dub premiered on Adult Swim‘s Toonami block in January 2017.

Japanese Studio Creative Freaks to Lead Production on Sentinel 6 Anime Executive Produced by NBA, NFL Players Michael Carter-Williams, Jamaal Williams – News

Published

on

The Hollywood Reporter entertainment news website reported on Saturday that former NBA player Michael Carter-Williams and NFL player Jamaal Williams will executive produce Sentinel 6, an “Afro-futurist sci-fi adventure anime.” The outlet stated Creative Freaks, a Kyoto-based background art studio, is “leading the production” on the work.

Creative Freaks has not previously been credited for animation production on a work, but has worked on background art for such anime as Spy×Family, Synduality: Noir, Ya Boy Kongming!, Chainsaw Man, several series in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime, Kaiju No. 8 TV 2, and Dragon Ball Daima, among many other works.

The studio was founded in 2014 and its website states in 2023 it launched its own animation production division. The company also has studios in Tokyo (where the animation division is located), Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Jamacian-American writer Pat Stout and the late Asa Palmer created the franchise in 2019 through their production company Sable Kudzu Entertainment LLC.

Sable Kudzu Entertainment LLC launched a Kickstarter campaign for a trailer for the project in December 2021, which reached US$18,706 of its US$15,000 goal by January 2022. The company posted the trailer in December 2022. Bulgaria- and Germany-based Chase A Cloud Studio animated the trailer.

The Kickstarter campaign describes the story:

Sentinel 6 is an Afro-Futuristic anime about a post war Earth, following the invasion of intergalactic terrorists. As fate would have it; Earth was destined to be the battleground of God’s scorn. The Great Phoenix War resulted in the near total destruction of Earth, wiping out the entire Zeronian Race except for one powerful child. 429 years later, the Earth has rebuilt itself up and is being threatened by that same child, Krath Mudaak. In a desperate cry for help, the Earth’s spiritual energy splits and imbues itself into 6 beacons of power across the world, the Sentinel 6! With the power of the Sentinel’s Mind, Heart, Hands, Feet, Sword and Shield; the six warriors are destined to protect Earth during this dire time.

Saint Dubois, a stellar student-athlete, is days away from achieving his dream; attending the most prestigious Blik program and following in the footsteps of his favorite athlete. However, a last-minute recruitment by Ranē Bogle, combined with family woes, puts a wrench in his plan. Now, instead of being a starter at his dream school, he must battle with the talented and intimidating Ali Washington for Lead Stryker. Tensions continue to build off the field as the two discover more about the other. As they travel the world with Ranē playing Blik, they meet Kalani Walker, Chafalumisa and Zhu Sianing. With the guidance of Sankofa, an Earth resident for over 600 years, the six heroes understand their destiny to protect the planet. Realizing that Krath Mudaak is the root of all evils, the six must put their differences aside, come together and defeat him to fulfill their destiny. Failure means the destruction of Earth and ultimately the galaxy!

The series is planned to have 11 or 12 30-minute episodes. LeSean Thomas (Yasuke, The Boondocks, Bass x Machina) wrote the pilot and is serving as a consulting producer on the project.

Talent manager Sam Goff is also an executive producer.

Palmer died in 2025, and later that year Carter-Williams and Williams fully funded the pilot for the show.

The Hollywood Reporter stated the project was “taken out to two dozen animation production studios” this year, with Creative Freaks winning the bid.

The series is planned for an English-language version first. Current cast members include influencer King Vader (Dominique Barrett), Jamaal Williams, and dub actor Cedric Williams. Bang Zoom! will lead the reverse localization into Japanese.
