By Artist Hirosaki is back with a brand-new series. The illustrator known for The Heroic Tale of the Villainous Prince manga adaptation has teamed up with writer Hare Tori to launch Saijaku Maou no Shinimodori Saiseitan (The Tale of the Rebirth of the Weakest Demon Lord and His Return by Death) on Hero’s Inc.’s HERO’S Web manga site.

The new series debuted on October 7 and wastes no time setting up its dark fantasy premise. It follows Krom, the second Demon Lord — a ruler so weak he’s outclassed even by the Seven Demonic Generals who serve him. When the Seven Heroes invade demon territory and slaughter everyone, including the Generals and Krom’s devoted servant Shia, the shamed Demon Lord takes his own life to join his companions in death.
Death as the Ultimate Weapon
But death isn’t the end for Krom. He awakens one year before his demise, and now he wields his own death as his greatest weapon, preparing for the calamity he knows is coming in exactly one year’s time. It’s a time-loop revenge setup with a memorably bleak twist: the protagonist’s power comes from having already lost everything once.
Hirosaki previously drew the manga adaptation of Ryu Hidari’s The Heroic Tale of the Villainous Prince novels, which ran on Kadokawa’s KadoComi site from July 2023 to March 2025 across three volumes. Yen Press publishes that series in English, releasing the third volume on July 28.
Where to Read
The new manga is serializing on HERO’S Web (formerly Comiplex), Hero’s Inc.’s digital manga platform. No English license has been announced yet, but given Hirosaki’s track record with Yen Press, international readers have reason to be hopeful.
