AEW’s wildest gimmick match just got its field. Adam Copeland, Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Ricochet, and Darby Allin all punched their tickets to the Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream during this week’s dual Dynamite/Collision episode, which packed in five qualifying bouts.

The qualifiers opened with Copeland taking on Josh Alexander. The Rated-R Superstar sealed the pinfall after drilling Alexander with a spear, continuing his strong run since returning to the ring. Next up, Konosuke Takeshita forced Brian Cage to tap out to a Dragon Sleeper, with The Alpha looking every bit the powerhouse AEW is pushing him as.
Okada and Ricochet Join the Chaos
Kazuchika Okada then handled underdog Myron Reed, finishing him off with the Rainmaker. Ricochet followed, scoring his qualifying win over Ace Austin with his Vertigo finisher. Both men bring an aerial element that should mesh explosively with the Carnage format’s anything-goes chaos.
Darby Allin Closes the Night
The nearly four-hour special closed with TNT Champion Darby Allin defending against Hechicero — and in doing so, earning the final Clockwork Carnage spot. Allin hit not one but two Coffin Drops to put Hechicero away, retaining his title while punching his ticket to Saturday’s spectacle.
Clockwork Carnage matches are among AEW’s most violent and unpredictable creations, and a field this stacked — a veteran legend, two Japanese stars at the peak of their powers, a high-flyer, and the fearless TNT Champion — promises pure mayhem at WrestleDream.
