Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson looks nothing like himself in the first on-set photos from Benny Safdie’s “Lizard Music”, and fans are already buzzing. New pictures that surfaced via Getty on October 20 show Johnson transformed into a 70-year-old man known as the “Chicken Man”, complete with heavy prosthetics and aging makeup.

A Christmas 2027 Release
Production on the film is now underway and has seemingly moved from Trilith Studios outside Atlanta to New York, based on the latest batch of set photos. “Lizard Music” is currently slated to hit theaters on December 25, 2027, giving the movie a prime holiday release window.
A 50-Pound Transformation
The physical commitment behind the role is staggering. Johnson revealed back in September that he lost 50 pounds for “Lizard Music”, and the makeup team behind the transformation reads like an awards-season dream team: Glen P. Griffin (Oppenheimer), Kazu Hiro (Darkest Hour), and Robin Pritchard (Chernobyl) are all credited on the project.
Johnson’s continued collaboration with Safdie signals just how serious he is about his dramatic acting chapter. After years of blockbuster roles, playing an elderly character under layers of prosthetics could be the biggest acting swing of his career — and the first photos suggest he’s going all in.
