tvN’s upcoming sports drama “GIFT” has shared a new glimpse of Seo Eun Soo in character, and it sets up a clash of philosophies at the heart of the show. She plays a teacher who believes in her players’ passion and potential — standing opposite a coach who cares only about results.

Based on a popular webtoon, “GIFT” stars Kim Woo Bin as Jung Min Yong, a former professional baseball pitching coach. After an unexpected accident leaves him with a special ability, Jung Min Yong becomes head coach of the high school team ranked last in the nation — a job that puts him on a collision course with the team’s fiercest protector.
Seo Eun Soo’s Yoon Seo Jin Clashes With Kim Woo Bin’s Coach in GIFT
Seo Eun Soo plays Yoon Seo Jin, a physical education teacher and supervisor of Deokcheon High School’s baseball team. Warm with her students but tough and unyielding in the face of injustice, she steps up to protect the team and make sure they can keep playing.
That puts her directly at odds with Jung Min Yong. Where he prioritises results and performance, she places greater value on the journey the players take as they inch towards their goals. It is a classic sports-drama tension — win at all costs versus grow along the way — and the new stills show Yoon Seo Jin comfortably chatting with the players, underlining just how close she is to the students she is fighting for.
When Does GIFT Premiere?
The drama’s premise gives both leads room to grow: a disgraced former pro with a mysterious new ability, and a teacher who refuses to let a struggling team be written off. If the early material is anything to go by, “GIFT” will be as much about belief and mentorship as it is about baseball.
“GIFT” premieres on December 5 at 9:10 p.m. KST, and fans of underdog sports stories will want to mark the date.
