Crypto Week Ahead: Fed, ECB and BOJ Rate Decisions and Coinbase Earnings Take Centre Stage

The Crypto Week Ahead for the week starting October 26 is dominated by central bank decisions and a busy earnings calendar, with Coinbase among the major names reporting. Traders will be watching what policymakers say just as closely as the decisions themselves.

Crypto Week Ahead: Fed, ECB and BOJ Decisions Explained

Central bank policy decisions dominate the week’s events, according to CoinDesk’s rundown. The Federal Reserve and the Bank of Canada set interest rates on Wednesday, followed by the European Central Bank on Thursday and the Bank of Japan on Friday. That sequence alone would make it a big week for markets, but the commentary around the decisions may matter even more.

According to the report, traders are less focused on the specific rate decision and more interested in statements from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh about the upcoming December meeting. MEXC chief executive Vugar Usi Zade told CoinDesk that keeping rates steady is already priced into market expectations, so such a move on its own is unlikely to act as a strong positive catalyst. In other words, the market has already made up its mind about the headline number — it is the guidance that could move prices.

That dynamic is familiar in crypto markets, where macro news often drives short-term swings. Rate expectations affect risk appetite across assets, and digital assets are no exception. A hawkish or dovish surprise in tone, rather than the rate itself, is often what traders react to first.

Coinbase Earnings and Other Key Dates This Week

Earnings add another layer to the week. Galaxy Digital, Robinhood Markets, Coinbase Global and Strategy report alongside PayPal and Mastercard, in what CoinDesk describes as a busy and potentially volatile earnings week for Wall Street. For crypto watchers, Coinbase is the natural focal point: its results offer a window into trading activity, user demand and the health of the wider digital asset market.

Other dates on the calendar include October 26, when Blast’s normal withdrawal interface closes, with assets remaining withdrawable through its bridge contracts on Ethereum. On October 28, comments are due on IRS Notice 2026-62, which addresses potentially abusive investment-fund tax strategies in the United States.

Taken together, the week blends macro policy, corporate earnings and crypto-specific deadlines. None of these events alone decides where the market goes next, but together they will shape the conversation — and the volatility — for traders heading into the final stretch of the year.
