Rin Suzukawa, the creator of the hit comedy Asobi Asobase, is giving her latest series a fresh start. The mangaka announced on Wednesday that Outsider Paradise has officially switched publishers from Futabasha to Kadokawa, with new chapters planned to run in full color starting with the 19th chapter.

The manga, which has been on hiatus since its 18th chapter in 2024 due to Suzukawa’s poor health, will now serialize on Kadokawa’s KadoComi website after launching in Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine back in May 2023.
Outsider Paradise Moves to Kadokawa’s KadoComi
The move marks a major turning point for the series. The first three chapters of Outsider Paradise are already available to read on KadoComi, giving new readers an easy entry point before the continuation arrives.
Suzukawa revealed that chapters up to the 18th will remain in black-and-white, but the 19th chapter onward will be drawn in full color. She is currently planning the new chapters, which will introduce a storyline where the girls are “a little more grown up.”
There is more good news for collectors too. The end of the first chapter confirmed that Kadokawa will release digital versions of the manga’s two compiled book volumes in early 2027, and the second volume will feature an extra chapter rendered in full color.
What Is Outsider Paradise About?
Outsider Paradise centers on five eccentric girls in an art club, friends since their first year of middle school. Fans of Suzukawa’s earlier work will recognize the setting: the story takes place in the same art club as Asobi Asobase, connecting the two manga in a shared universe.
Futabasha published the manga’s second compiled volume in April 2024, shortly before the health-related hiatus. With a new publisher, a new platform, and a full-color upgrade, Suzukawa seems poised to return stronger than ever.
The creator’s track record gives fans plenty of reason to be excited. Asobi Asobase, which launched in 2015 and ended in 2022, became a beloved comedy both as a manga and through its 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in July 2018. Dark Horse Comics has also licensed the manga, with the first English volume arriving soon.
While no exact return date for the new chapters has been announced yet, the full-color continuation at Kadokawa signals that the wait is finally coming to an end.
