Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent Romance Manga Gets Anime – News
Kodansha announced on Thursday that Naruki‘s Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent (Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun) manga is inspiring a television anime. Kodansha did not reveal any further details about the anime adaptation, but Naruki drew the below illustration to celebrate the anime’s announcement.

Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:
Momose has always longed for a peaceful high school life. She wants nothing to do with hoodlums, delinquents, or troublemakers. When she meets Ichikura, an inconspicuous black-haired boy with glasses, he looks like a normal, nice guy. But it turns out that back in junior high he was a nefarious delinquent!
He keeps assuring her that he’s changed his ways, but he’s still pretty quick to pick fights! Has Ichikura really turned over a new leaf? And will Momose keep quiet about his rowdy past?
Naruki launched the series in Kodansha‘s Bessatsu Friend magazine in January 2021. Kodansha shipped the manga’s 10th compiled book volume in December 2025, and will ship the 11th volume on May 13. Both Kodansha‘s K MANGA service and Seven Seas Entertainment are releasing the manga in English, with K MANGA offering the manga digitally simultaneously. Seven Seas Entertainment released the manga’s fifth volume on January 13.

Future GPX Cyber Formula’s New Anime Short Reveals Cast, Staff, Screening on February 19 – News
Bandai Namco Filmworks announced on Saturday that its planned new anime short for the Future GPX Cyber Formula series will screen alongside a new HD remastered “movie edition” of the Future GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal compilation OVA in Japan starting on February 19, 2027. The new short anime is titled Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula ASURADA, and is a direct sequel to the 1998 Future GPX Cyber Formula Sin anime.
Character designer Hirokazu Hisayuki and chief mechanical animation director Satoshi Shigeta drew the below poster for the new anime short.

According to the staff, the upcoming short uses hand-drawn animation and no CG.
Shōji Kawamori designed the previously revealed completely new Cyber Machine “Zenith Asurada AKF-S0/G” for the short. Bandai Namco Filmworks also revealed on Saturday Kawamori’s design for the “Hō・Ōga AA-1” machine (name romanization not confirmed).

Bandai Entertainment released the Future GPX Cyber Formula anime as a complete collection on DVD in November 2003. The company described the story:
Cyber Formula is the future of Grand Prix auto racing where a mix of skilled driving and advance technology ultimately determines who wins and loses. Kazami Hayato is thrust into the fast paced world of Cyber Formula racing when he accidentally becomes imprinted to Team Sugo’s Asurada GSX after recovering the racecar from would-be thieves. Now he must prove to himself and to his teammates that he can compete with the best racers in the world. Step into the world of Cyber Formula and prepare yourself for the fast lane.
The Future GPX Cyber Formula television anime aired in Japan in 1991. The anime had four OVA sequels: Future GPX Cyber Formula 11 beginning in 1992, Future GPX Cyber Formula Zero in 1994, Future GPX Cyber Formula Saga in 1996, and Future GPX Cyber Formula Sin in 1998. A compilation OVA titled Future GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal debuted in 1996.
The anime has inspired games that were originally created as fan works without copyright, but are now authorized and advertised on the official site.
A new game in the series is also in the works titled Future GPX Cyber Formula Spiral. The new racing game features an original storyline with supervision by the series’ general director Mitsuo Fukuda.

Starbucks Japan and Pokémon announced a new, and apparently first ever, collaboration on Thursday. The collaboration will begin with tumblers on September 30.

Also coming to your corner shop(s) is a new Pikachu Honey Cream Latté and a series of Pokémon x Starbucks merchandise items: tumblers (including one with a Pokéball-shaped lid), bottles, mugs, drip coffee maker pots, kettles, ceramic canisters, milk foamers, aprons, keychains, stickers, postcards, posters, tote bags, and cup pouches. The Pikachu Honey Cream Latté is priced at 690 yen (about US$4.50) and merchandise items between 1,500 yen and 6,600 yen (about US$10 to US$42).

As of press time, Pokémon and Starbucks have not announced when the collaboration will end.
Pokémon is no stranger to tie-ins with fast food restaurants and food product collaborations. Recently the franchise has partnered with American doughnut chain Krispy Kreme for a line of Pokémon-inspired doughnuts in celebration of Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary. Pokémon has also partnered with South Korean Spam distributor CJ CheilJedang, under license from Hormel Foods, for Pokémon Spam sets for the Chuseok harvest festival on September 24-26.
Life-Sized Golden Pikachu Goes on Display
Along with the Pokémon x Starbucks collaboration, Japanese gold and gold product retailer SGC announced it has created a life-sized golden Pikachu statue for its Yokohama Dai Ōgon Ten (Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition). The statue stands at 50cm (about 20 inches) tall and was made using nearly 200 pieces of gold leaf.

SGC is also exhibiting and selling 24K gold Gholdengo statuettes. The Gholdengo statuette stands around 6 centimeters tall (about 2.5 inches) and weigh nearly 15 grams (about 0.5 ounces) and retails for 1,540,000 yen (about US$9,730).

The Yokohama Dai Ōgon Ten will take place at the Yokohama Takashimaya 8th Floor Exhibition Area between September 30 and October 5. The exhibition will be open between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and entrance is free of charge.
