Manga was originally slated to return from hiatus on Monday

The official X/Twitter account for Masaoki Shindō‘s RuriDragon manga revealed on Sunday that the manga’s current hiatus is extended, and the 46th chapter is being delayed until early June.

The manga went on hiatus in March, and was originally slated to return on Monday in the digital version of the combined 22nd and 23rd issue of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump and on the Shonen Jump+ service. The announcement on Sunday did not give a reason for the delay.

The manga took two one-week breaks early in July 2022, due to the author’s “sudden illness,” before announcing an extended break at the end of that month.

The manga then returned shortly in Weekly Shonen Jump, before moving to the magazine’s digital version and on Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump+ manga website, in April 2024. The manga had been releasing new chapters every other issue.

The manga most recently took a two-month break in May to July 2025.

RuriDragon is inspiring an upcoming television anime by Kyoto Animation.

Viz Media and MANGA Plus both began publishing the manga in English in June 2022.

MANGA Plus describes the story:

The story of a young dragon girl being lazy, doing her best…and being lazy again. A new series begins!

Shindō launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in June 2022. Shueisha published the manga’s first compiled book volume in October 2022, and the fifth volume on March 4. The manga is a serialized version of a one-shot that Shueisha published in the Shonen Jump GIGA magazine in December 2020.

Shindō also previously published two one-shots in Weekly Shonen Jump: “Joreishi Rentarō no Yakusoku” in 2017 and “Count Over” in 2018.

The game debuted in April 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 digitally on October 22 and physically in January 2027.

The game’s crossover with Street Fighter includes characters Ken and Chun-Li. Both characters are a part of the game’s Season Pass 1. The game launched Andy Bogard as a playable character in June 2025, added Ken as a playable character in August 2025, introduced Joe Higashi as a playable character in October 2025, debuted Chun-Li in November 2025, and launched MR. The game also includes the new characters Preecha and Vox Reaper.

SNK announced the new game at the EVO fighting game tournament in 2022. It is the first new game in more than two decades since the last installment.

Fatal Fury (known as Garō Densetsu in Japan) is one of SNK‘s most iconic fighting game franchises, and is the origin of some of the company’s most recognizable characters, including Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Blue Mary, Geese Howard, and more. Fatal Fury: King of Fighters debuted in arcades in 1991, and the latest installment, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, debuted in 1999. SNK‘s separate fighting game franchise The King of Fighters initially began as a crossover fighter for SNK‘s Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting franchises, and their characters have been mainstays in the long-running series until today.

The series inspired the Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf OVA in 1992, Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle OVA in 1993, and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture in 1994. All three feature Masami Ōbari‘s character designs, with Ōbari also directing the third anime. Discotek Media has released all three anime.

Standalone subscription prices rise to US$12.49 with ads, US$21.49 without ads following last year’s increase

Disney+ raised its price for monthly subscriptions to its streaming platform on Wednesday. The price for the subscription tier with ads increased from US$11.99 to US$12.49, while the Disney+ Premium ad-free tier increased from US$18.99 to US$21.49. Hulu subscriptions with and without ads feature the same price increases. The price for the Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads remains at US$12.99, while the Premium bundle for both services without ads rose from US$19.99 to US$21.99. The Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select Bundle increased from US$19.99 to US$21.99, and the Premium bundle’s price rose from US$29.99 to US$32.99.

The updated prices apply to new subscriptions as of Wednesday. Current subscribers will get a price change on or after October 21.

The streamer previously raised its prices in October 2025, and before that raised its price in October 2024. Disney+ also raised its prices and revealed plans to restrict password sharing for accounts in October 2023.

Disney+ announced in August 2025 that it is “fully integrating” the Hulu streaming service, along with a new singular app with both Disney+ and Hulu services, which will launch in 2026. The subscription services will remain standalone, but both Disney+ and Hulu will be accessible from the unified app. Disney already offers bundles including both Disney+ and Hulu. In addition, a significant amount of content, including anime, from the Hulu library already streams on the Disney+ for subscribers of both.

Disney owns 100% of Hulu, after acquiring Comcast‘s 33% stake in Hulu for US$8.61 billion in 2023.

Before Disney acquired the entirety of Hulu, anime that streamed on Disney+ internationally would stream in the U.S. on Hulu instead. Currently, anime still stream on Hulu, but now also stream on Disney+ for subscribers of both services.

English-subbed trailer streamed for anime inspired by Alice in Wonderland

Crunchyroll revealed last week that it will screen Dive in Wonderland (Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland-, or With Alice in Wonderland: Dive in Wonderland-), which the staff initially described as Japan’s first anime film adaptation of Lewis Carroll‘s classic children’s novel Alice in Wonderland, in select theaters for one day only on November 16 as part of its “Crunchyroll Anime Nights” program dedicated to screening anime across the U.S. The company streamed an English-subtitled trailer:

The film’s story centers on Rise, a modern-day girl who somehow stumbles into Wonderland and meets Alice.

The film opened in August 2025.

The cast includes:

Toshiya Shinohara (Black Butler, A Lull in the Sea, The aquatope on white sand) directed the film at P.A. Works. Yūko Kakihara (Blue Box, Urusei Yatsura 2022, The aquatope on white sand) penned the script. Shochiku and TBS are listed as production coordinators.

Other staff members include:

SEKAI NO OWARI perform the film’s theme song “Zukan” (Guidebook).

Lewis Carroll‘s Alice in Wonderland book centers on a girl named Alice, who one day follows a talking white rabbit into a rabbit hole, and ends up in a strange Wonderland where she has surreal encounters with its mercurial rules and denizens. The book has become one of the most referenced works of literature in pop culture, with elements and motifs appearing in virtually every medium, including anime, manga, and video games.

The book previously inspired Nippon Animation and Apollo Film‘s 1983-1984 television anime adaptation.
