How to watch the 2026-27 Premier League season in the U.S. and Canada
There is no shortage of interest in a given English Premier League season. The EPL is a cultural phenomenon and an institution of its sport, with top-line talents from all across the planet.
But this upcoming 2026-27 campaign will definitely bring in North American converts fresh off their World Cup rush. Gunners are born before our eyes, as new Erling Haaland fans go from Norway’s “Viking Row” to Manchester City’s “Blue Moon.” Some will never walk alone again. A few might even get stung by the Bees at the bus stop.
Last season’s blockbuster between Arsenal and Man City became the most-watched Premier League match in U.S. history. That record could be broken in the months to come. Haaland’s side tries to get back on top, while Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka headline Arsenal’s first championship defense bid in more than two decades. Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United start somewhere below them in the title mix, alongside brand names like Liverpool and Chelsea.
Here’s a quick rundown on how EPL broadcasts work, first in the United States and then in Canada. Be sure to follow the Premier League on The Athletic, and sign up for The Athletic FC newsletter to keep up with the beautiful game.
All times below are ET.
You can watch Premier League and other live soccer matches with Fubo (Stream Free Now).
Emma Paton previews the Premier League
NBC
The terrestrial channel is racking up live sports viewership this year between the Super Bowl, Winter Olympics and renewed NBA coverage. Now comes the return of the Premier League. Sometimes, NBC will get one weekend showcase (often a Saturday spot at 12:30 p.m.). Other matchweeks are confined to the cable and streaming subsidiaries.
NBC Sports’ lead studio show is “Premier League Live.” It stars host Rebecca Lowe and former players Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe and Tim Howard.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: NBC is free over the air with a TV antenna. It’s also included with pay TV packages (around $85-125 per month) or a Peacock subscription (the “Premium” option with live sports goes for $10.99/month).
Peacock and NBCSN
NBC coverage streams on Peacock, but the streamer has its own exclusives throughout the season. Some live Peacock matches are also on linear TV through NBCSN, or NBCSN Extra on YouTube TV.
Peacock offers a multiview option in its app, with a “key plays” feature for late viewers trying to catch up. Spanish-language coverage can also be streamed on Peacock.
“The Men in Blazers Show” is a part of Peacock’s programming. The irreverence is anchored by Roger Bennett. Last season’s many celebrity cameos included comedian Trevor Noah, rapper Big Boi and NFL coach Sean McVay. Liverpool obsessive (and penalty specialist) John Oliver has been a regular guest over the years.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: NBCSN is included with some pay TV sports packages. The matches exclusive to Peacock require an active “Premium” subscription (starting at $10.99/month). College students can get 12 months of Peacock for $5.99/month.
USA Network
A lot of Premier League matches land on USA, in addition to the network’s new deal with the German Bundesliga.
As of 2026, USA Network is now a Versant Media property and no longer under the NBC umbrella. That means its games don’t stream on Peacock. The USA app offers mobile and smart TV access for those with multichannel cable, satellite or streaming logins.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: USA is included in most pay TV bases.
Overflow networks (CNBC, Golf Channel, Syfy)
Soccer on the science fiction hub? Let’s leave “Galactik Football” out of this. It’s rare, but Versant channels like Syfy can be used for EPL coverage.
Both Syfy and CNBC had matches during last season’s “Championship Sunday” finale. In the past, Golf Channel has aired the occasional game as well. Those networks have their own apps, but like USA, they are not over-the-top services — you need pay TV credentials to use them.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: CNBC, Golf Channel and Syfy are included in most pay TV bases.
Telemundo and Universo
These two are on a hot streak. On Telemundo and Universo, the World Cup became the biggest Spanish-language sporting event in American history, per Nielsen. The networks have since added exclusive U.S. Spanish-language TV rights for UEFA competitions, which kick in for the 2027-28 season.
This is how EPL fans can see and hear Spanish broadcasts on linear TV. As always, the “gooooooool” calls for Premier League strikes are positively electric.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: Telemundo is free over the air, and Universo is available through most pay TV plans.
How to watch the Premier League in Canada
While NBC Sports has U.S. broadcasts through 2028, Fubo lands those EPL rights for Canadian audiences. The streamer’s sports bundle includes all Italian Serie A matches and some matchups in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 (French domestic) and Concacaf (North/Central American international). The “sports pro” bundle also comes with DAZN, which has UEFA soccer.
What you’ll need to watch these matches: In Canada, Fubo’s quarterly sports plan is $44.97 total for the first three months, then $83.97 for each subsequent three-month period. The “sports pro” option is $134.97 total for the first three months and $149.97 every three months after that.

How Giants QB Jaxson Dart is acclimating to a new offense in New York
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — How is the installation of a new offense going in New York? Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston referenced a cookbook rather than a playbook, comparing the process to making gumbo.
“There’s just so many good mixes in there,” the jovial 12th-year veteran explained. “You’ve got the old school; you’ve got the new school; and you’ve got just this melting pot of greatness, right? So, it’s really fun.”
That may sound like some classic Jameis Winston wisdom, but it’s actually something he borrowed from former teammate Drew Brees’ recent Pro Hall of Fame enshrinement speech — the longtime Saints QB mentioned neighbors bringing gumbo as a housewarming gift when he got to New Orleans — and put his own spin on it. And it is fitting for what’s happening in New York on John Harbaugh’s very experienced offensive coaching staff. There are a lot of new cooks in the kitchen, each with plenty of play-designing and play-calling experience, so the key for the Giants is working together to create a palatable, cohesive offensive “gumbo.”
Top Plays from Vikings @ Giants
The staff features offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who’s been a play-calling head coach in Chicago and spent a lot of time (both as a quarterbacks coach and OC) in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes. Senior offensive assistant Greg Roman most recently worked as the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator with Justin Herbert (working for Harbaugh’s brother Jim) and had the same job in Baltimore with Harbaugh and quarterback Lamar Jackson. Passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan most recently served as the Titans’ play-calling head coach and previously worked as the OC in Cincinnati with Joe Burrow. Even tight ends coach Tim Kelly has served as an offensive coordinator (Tennessee and with the Giants as an interim last year).
While so much experience can obviously be a good thing, “too many cooks in the kitchen” is an idiom for a reason. It’s fair to wonder if there will be too many voices in the ear of second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart, who’s had an up-and-down start to training camp, including a roller-coaster preseason debut.
But as Dart acclimates to a new offense — particularly after playing in one last year that was largely built to make his transition to the NFL as smooth as possible — growing pains were expected. And amid the process of adjusting to a new scheme, Dart actually sees all the new voices as a positive thing — he’s soaking up a lot of knowledge from coaches who have been at this for a long time.
“You get to hear their perspectives. You get to hear, obviously, their coaching each and every day,” Dart said. “That alone gives this staff a really good edge for us as a team. … As players, we have all the confidence in the world in them being able to put us in the best spots to succeed.”
As fans got a glimpse of Saturday during the Giants’ preseason debut, the new scheme is a departure from the college-style, RPO-heavy scheme former coach Brian Daboll’s Giants ran last year during Dart’s rookie season. Instead of playing out of shotgun most of the time, the quarterback is being asked to line up under center far more often — largely to facilitate what’s expected to be a run-heavy attack — and Nagy said Dart has taken to the change with “no issue.”
Callahan emphasized that element is no longer new to the quarterback given how many reps he’s put in this offseason.
“He’s taken to it really quickly,” Callahan said. “I’ve always felt (the) under-center run game is usually going to be where you’re most dangerous and multiple, and then that play-action game that goes with it is an important part of NFL offenses. We’re still going to be in the gun and do the things that he’s comfortable with there, and we’ll have all the RPO game that goes with it. So we’ll be multiple, and we have a lot of ways we can attack. Him being able to do (everything) is going to allow us to have that flexibility.”
In the spring, Callahan talked about the need to improve the consistency of Dart’s eye discipline and footwork. Months later, the coach believes Dart has come a long way in both regards, saying his feet are calmer in the pocket and that his eyes are usually in the right place as he understands what is being asked of him in the passing game.
“There’s a rhythm to it and a discipline to it where you know each concept requires you know a certain footwork and timing and rhythm, and I think he’s really bought into all that, and I think he’s really started to execute those things at a pretty good clip at this point,” Callahan said. “The footwork discipline and just like the smoothness of it, I think has really improved.”
In terms of other changes for Dart, we can’t forget to talk about sliding, which was a huge talking point last season. As a ball carrier, Dart likes to play aggressively, at times to a fault, as he ended up getting checked for a concussion five times last year. Dart was checked for a concussion once again during Saturday’s preseason game, but that came after the QB took a hit in the pocket and was not the result of him being overly aggressive as a ball carrier.
Still, avoiding taking unnecessary hits has been a huge point of emphasis under the new staff, and Dart seems to be making strides — in practice last week, Dart’s slide to the sidelines resulted in loud cheers from his defensive teammates and Harbaugh. Everyone was happy to see their quarterback make a smart play in a situational drill.
Since the spring, there’s been a plan in place for Dart’s progression, starting from teaching him the basics of the Giants offense to running the plays in camp. From there, Nagy has the next piece he wants to see in Dart’s evolution.
“My biggest thing with him was being able to get through these practices and, it sounds simple, but be able to get in the huddle, call the play, get up to the line of scrimmage, see the defense and play fast,” Nagy said. “He’s calling every play. He’s seeing it when he says it. He’s not just listening and memorizing it.
“He’s there. He’s aced that part. Now we’ve got to get it to the part of seeing the defense and taking it to the next level, because the kid is super talented.”
That started for the first time, albeit in a small dose on Saturday as the Giants suited up for their first preseason game. Because of the concussion check, Dart didn’t play quite as much as planned, finished 3-of-4 passing for 26 yards and a touchdown along with two sacks.
However, Dart’s exposure to live (ish) action while operating the new offense will increase this week, as the Giants conduct a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins; there are also two more preseason games before the action kicks off in Week 1. How much Dart will play the remainder of the preseason remains unknown, but one of the team’s goals for the rest of August will be to pare down the offense a bit via a filtering process.
They want to determine what’s working for Dart. If the QB isn’t getting his eyes to a certain spot in the progression on a particular play, the coaching staff plans to use their remaining time before the regular season to determine why he might not be seeing it well before deciding whether to fix the issue or ditch the play.
The whole process is a collaboration, and it’s not the coaches who have input on how to make the “gumbo.”
Dart needs to feel comfortable with what he’s being asked to do.
“On Sundays, we want to go out and play as fast and have as little guesswork as possible,” Callahan said. “So that process is sort of ongoing, everything goes in, and now we start to narrow some things down.”

Sergio Busquets returns to Barcelona with reserve team coaching role
Former Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has taken up an assistant coaching role with the Catalan club’s reserve team.
In a statement on Monday, Barcelona said that Busquets, who made 722 appearances for the club during his career, will join Juliano Belletti’s Barca Atletic backroom staff while he completes his coaching qualifications in what is the 38-year-old’s first non-playing role.
Busquets retired from his playing career at the end of the 2025 Major League Soccer season, having spent two and a half years playing for Inter Miami alongside former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba.
Barca Atletic, previously known as Barcelona B, largely features players from the club’s ‘La Masia’ academy. They competed in Segunda Division, the second tier of Spanish football, as recently as the 2017-18 season and will feature in the fourth tier this term. Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Casado and Hector Fort are among the recent examples of players to step up to the first team from the reserve set-up.

Busquets spent 18 years with Barcelona, joining the club’s youth ranks in 2005, and entering the first-team picture three years later.
He won nine La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues, as part of an iconic midfield alongside Xavi and Andres Iniesta. He made the third-highest number of appearances of any player in the club’s history, behind only Messi and Xavi.
Busquets also enjoyed major international success with Spain, winning the 2010 World Cup and European Championship two years later, earning 143 caps.
Even in the latter years of his playing career, Busquets remained a regular for Inter Miami. He made 56 appearances in all competitions in 2025, his final season with the club, as they won the MLS Cup.

Michael Jordan’s 1998 NBA Finals Game 3 jersey going to auction with record-setting potential
The jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals, when he would go on to win his sixth and final championship during “The Last Dance” season for the 1990s Chicago Bulls dynasty, will be sold through auction house Joopiter this fall. One of the most significant pieces of Jordan memorabilia to surface publicly, the jersey could set sales records as the collectibles market continues to climb to new heights.
With the series tied following a pair of road games against John Stockton, Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz, the Bulls returned home and delivered a 96-54 rout, taking a 2-1 series lead. Jordan scored a game-high 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Chicago would go on to win Game 4 and Game 6 to secure the dynasty’s second three-peat and sixth title in eight years.
“’The Last Dance’ represents really one of the defining chapters in the history of all sports, not just basketball,” Caitlin Donovan, Joopiter’s global head of sales, told The Athletic. “It’s really more than just the conclusion of (Jordan’s) career with the Bulls, it really marked the culmination of one of the greatest dynasties that I feel was ever assembled.”
Bidding for the jersey, which has been photo-matched to Game 3 by third-party authenticator MeiGray, opens on Sept. 15. Should the jersey reach its pre-sale estimate, it would challenge the record for a basketball jersey sold at public auction. The current high is the $10.1 million paid in 2022 for Jordan’s “Last Dance” jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals. That was the most expensive piece of game-worn memorabilia of any kind before Babe Ruth’s 1932 World Series “called shot” jersey sold for $24.12 million in 2024. Jordan’s ’98 Finals Game 3 jersey could challenge that record, though. Both the game-used memorabilia and Jordan collectibles markets have arguably never been hotter, as wealthy investors pour into the sports collectibles world.
Jordan remains the most searched athlete across all sports on eBay each month, consistently beating out the top stars of the current era. According to GemRate, which tracks trading card grading and sales data, nearly $19.4 million was spent on Jordan cards on eBay alone in July, the most spent on any single athlete in a month so far this year.
“Well (Jordan’s Game 3 jersey) encompasses all of the key components of why the sports memorabilia hobby has become an asset class,” MeiGray founder Barry Meisel told The Athletic. “You have the greatest player of all time, you have the ‘Last Dance’ and his final championship. Within the context of NBA collectors … you have all the elements of a relic that stands among the greatest of all time.”

Game-used Jordan jerseys remain incredibly scarce compared to game-worn pieces that reach public auction from today’s stars. Current NBA players wear jerseys in multiple games far less often than previous generations, and will often wear multiple jerseys in a single game as collectibility and revenue generation become bigger concerns for teams and leagues.
“Jordan remains a very, very, very rare relic, certainly in comparison to the GOATs of today — the LeBrons, the Stephen Currys, because it was a different era,” Meisel said. “There were no game-worn jersey programs. Teams weren’t putting a jersey on a player’s back every game or every couple of games.”
Jordan’s Game 3 jersey also represents a key consignment for Joopiter, which was founded by musician Pharrell Williams in 2022. Joopiter has previously sold key Jordan pieces, including a signed Michael Jordan rookie card for $2.5 million as well as signed and game-worn Air Jordans.
“It would be deeply significant for any auction house — I do acknowledge the fact that we are quite green in our long trajectory compared to some of the other houses,” Donovan said. “I think that Joopiter being able to offer this item says we understand the collectibles market and we are putting storytelling first. I think our storytelling-first approach and our understanding of current culture has led us to these exceptional items.”
Joopiter will support the auction with two live events in September. Jordan’s jersey will be on display at the Free Parking gallery in New York City from Sept. 15-20 and at Canon Collectibles in Los Angeles from Sept. 21-26.
“I think with an object at this level of importance, emotion is key,” Donovan said. “We want this to appeal to the potential buyer at a great level, at a record-breaking price … but I also think it’s important to Joopiter that a lot of the storytelling around sports goes to the fans and to the people that not only love Michael Jordan, love the Bulls, love ‘The Last Dance,’ but kind of know where they were in that time.
“Oftentimes the moment had a pretty exceptional impact on their lives, so opening it up to the public for us was really important for this object.”
