‘Paw Patrol’ Enters Genetic Engineering in Pact With Bioscience Firm

Published

on

The Paw Patrol litter is gonna need a scientist dogs. Maybe a poodle — they’re smart.

Colossal Biosciences, a de-extinction company trying to bring back the Woolly Mammoth, has enlisted the beloved pups in its efforts to save endangered species. Paramount, Spin Master and Colossal have teamed to “teach children that real animals don’t always have the Paw Patrol to rescue them. The group playing God even got Godzilla: King of the Monsters writer/director Michael Dougherty — and the dude who voices firedog Marshall (Carter Young) — to put together a call-to-action video for the little tablet-wielders.

The campaign teaches the kiddos that mayors in purple tails and top hats are not always the big bads to the animal kingdom. Usually it’s disease; often it’s us.

“The next generation of protectors, that’s us. Together, we can become a real-life Paw Patrol for our planet,” the campaign tells them.

Yes, it’s a real Mission PAW situation. Watch the video:

Thus far, Colossal has de-extincted Red Wolves, the most endangered species of wolf with only 14 left in the wild — the company used the same tech that was deployed to bring back Dire Wolves. The nerds at Colossal have also used “AI-enabled bioacoustic sensors” to decode their howls, the company says.

Colossal is very tech-forward, and is presently “working with indigenous tribes and other partners on more than 25 AI & biotechnology-enabled conservation projects” aimed at saving rhinos and amphibians as well.

If this all sounds familiar, well, it’s basically the plot of Jurassic Park. And Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie is… also basically the plot of Jurassic Park — just, you know, for preschoolers.

“After their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm, the Paw Patrol pups crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related,” the Dino Movie logline reads. “When the Paw Patrol’s archrival, Mayor Humdinger, begins recklessly mining in hopes of exploiting the island for its natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt.”

The pups are soon “thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they’ve done before,” it continues, “as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.

Melissa McCarthy ‘Margie Claus’ Sets Fall 2027 Release, Rounds Out Cast

Published

on

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s Margie Claus starring Melissa McCarthy will fly into theaters on Nov. 12, 2027. The pic has also set its additional voiceover cast with Jim Gaffigan as Santa, Andrew Scott as Jack Frost along with Annie Mumolo, Georgette Falcone, Octavia Spencer, Gary Farmer, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Cedric Yarbrough, and Maria Bakalova. Cole Escola was previously announced.

Directed by Kirk DeMicco from a screenplay by Ben Falcone and Damon Jones, Margie Claus will also have original songs written and produced by Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling artist Meghan Trainor along with Falcone and Jones.

In the pic, Santa Claus goes missing on Christmas Eve. His sweet wife Margie does what any devoted spouse would do: she grabs a century old sleigh out of mothballs, puts together a wildly unqualified rescue team and ventures to the South Pole where good cheer can get you killed – on an action-packed comedic rescue mission to save her husband and Christmas.

“I love Christmas so much, and so does Margie Claus,” said McCarthy. “Our story is about showing up for the people you love the most at the holidays, and it’s a reminder that you don’t have to be perfect to be lovable. It’s been so special to make this movie with Ben, Kirk, Michelle, Damon and are you kidding me? We got Meghan Trainor, Chef’s kiss! Ben and I can’t wait to get on our sleigh next November and throw Christmas cookie and ugly sweater parties at theaters across the globe. We’ve always wanted to tour the amazing movie theaters all over the world, and this is the perfect way to do it. We can’t wait to see you there! Ho Ho Ho!!”

Margie Claus is produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day Productions banner alongside Oscar-winning producer Michelle L.M. Wong (KPop Demon Hunters).

Margie Claus was previously dated for Nov. 5, 2027. The only other major studio title on Nov. 12 next year is Paramount’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow from Sian Heder and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s upcoming slate includes The Cat in the Hat (Nov. 6), Bad Fairies (May 21, 2027), Oh, the Places You’ll Go! (March 17, 2028), Dynamic Duo (June 30, 2028), Hello Kitty (July 21, 2028), and The Lunar Chronicles (Nov. 3, 2028).

‘America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ Renewed For Season 4

Published

on

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be back for another go-round. Netflix has renewed the fan-favorite series for a fourth season for premiere in 2027. Check out the renewal announcement below.

From Emmy-winning director Greg Whiteley, Season 4 will follow the 2026-27 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders team as highly competitive auditions give way to training camp and a full NFL season. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ Senior Director Kelli Finglass and Head Choreographer Judy Trammell are back in the studio and on the field with the newly formed 2026 squad.

“Every season we get a little further past the performance and closer to the person,” said Whiteley. “What excites me is more than just who makes the team — it’s what these women are willing to explore and let viewers see along their journey. That kind of trust takes years and I’m grateful we get another season to tell their stories.”

The renewal follows a highly successful Season 3, which spent two weeks in the Global Top 10 following its June 16 premiere, reaching the Top 10 in 22 countries, including the United States.

“Each new season is another opportunity to showcase the extraordinary talent, dedication and individuality of our team,” added Finglass. “We’re proud to continue to share their stories and artistry with audiences, inspiring the next generation of young performers all over the world to dream big and pursue their passions.”
