While Elon Musk attempts to rival The Odyssey with an AI-generated take, Christopher Nolan sees how the historical epic serves as a metaphor for the public’s distrust in the tech.

The 2x Oscar winning director recently agreed with a comparison of artificial intelligence to a Trojan horse “made of glass,” acknowledging the similarities to Greeks presenting the horse to Troy as a gift during the Trojan War, only to use it to sneak inside the city and win the war.

“I think AI is a Trojan horse that everybody knows the Greeks are inside,” said Nolan on the Hugo Décrypte YouTube, adding: “It’s a transparent horse, it’s made of glass. Everybody can see what’s going on inside of there.”

Noting how AI has “taken over Wall Street” in recent years, Nolan praised Gen Z for its “very healthy skepticism” of the technology’s rapid growth.

“I’ve never seen a technology advancing so rapidly, so completely rejected by the public. Everybody’s suspicion of it is so extreme, particularly young people,” he explained. “The reaction to AI videos online and people my children’s age immediately calling it ‘AI slop’ and coining that term and just putting it in a box, which I think is a very healthy skepticism, because technology is always going to give us great gifts, as you say, but it has to be viewed with skepticism.

“The motives of the people giving it to us also have to be viewed with skepticism. That’s when we’ll get the best out of a new technology, rather than just blind faith that everything’s going to be great. It’s actually pretty encouraging to see young people in particular being so suspicious of it,” added Nolan.

Meanwhile, Musk has continued his bitter crusade on Nolan’s summer blockbuster, declaring that X’s AI tool Grok Imagine “will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer” by the end of the year. Musk and his ilk have recently made a stink about the ethnicity of some of the adaptation’s cast, which Nolan has also dismissed as “irrelevant.”

The use of AI in Hollywood continues to be a hot-button topic in recent years. SAG-AFTRA has endorsed the Trump administration’s AI policy framework, which calls for Congress to enact legislation that includes parental controls, intellectual property rights protection, First Amendment protections, expanding AI workforce development, allowing data centers to generate their own power and removing legal barriers that limit AI innovation.

Last month, Trump signed an executive order for voluntary framework in which AI companies would provide the government with access to new models for a 30-day review period before their release.

Jason Alexander is apologizing for filming a comedy sketch with then-17-year-old Courtney Stodden.

Stodden recalled the 2012 Funny or Die sketch and questioned why “so many adults look at a minor and decide this was acceptable.”

“Looking back at the comedy sketch in which Ms. Stodden and I participated in 2012, I completely agree that it was inappropriate and I truly regret it,” the Seinfeld alum told TMZ in a statement.

He added, “But more importantly, I am deeply sorry for any harm or distress it has caused Ms. Stodden. I offer her my sincerest apologies.”

Stodden resurfaced the sketch as she advocates for the state of California to pass AB1267, a bill that would ban child marriage. The television personality married 51-year-old Dough Hutchinson in 2011 when she was only 16 years old.

“The older I get, the more impossible this is to understand. During this comedy sketch, Jason Alexander repeatedly rubbed his phone across my breasts while saying there was ‘no signal’ in my head but ‘plenty of signal’ in my chest,” Stodden wrote in an Instagram post. “Later in the sketch, he joked that when I turned 18 he’d like to take me behind the couch and ‘have his way’ with me. IMDb credits him as one of the writers of the episode.”

Stodden continued, “As an adult, that fact has become harder—not easier—for me to understand. I was a minor. I didn’t have the legal power to decide whether I wanted to participate. The contracts were signed by adults. The paycheck went to Doug. The production moved forward. I was the only child in the room. I felt so alone.”

As Stodden looked back at the moment, she said, “I don’t see comedy,” adding, “I see a 17-year-old girl whose body became part of an adult joke. People still say, ‘You chose to be there.’ Legally, I couldn’t make those decisions for myself. That’s the point. I can’t change what happened to me but I can ask myself: How did so many adults look at a minor and decide this was acceptable?”

Shining light on this past experience is why Stodden says she is speaking up today, adding, “Children deserve laws that protect them. They shouldn’t have to become adults before realizing the law should have protected them all along.”
