CRYMELIGHT debuts on November 5, ANOMALITH on October 29 for PS5, Switch 2, Steam

FuRyu revealed new trailers on Saturday for both its CRYMELIGHT game and ANOMALITH game. FuRyu also released limited-time playable demos for both games on Steam. The demos are available from July 31 at 12:00 p.m. EDT through August 9 at 10:59 a.m. EDT to coincide with the “Six One Demo Days” Steam event.

CRYMELIGHT is the latest installment in its CRY series of “dark bishōjo action” game series that includes the CRYSTAR game and the CRYMACHINA action role-playing game.

The game is a roguelike that will launch on November 5 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A deluxe edition of the game includes six DLC items, a digital artbook, and a digital album with 11 soundtrack songs and three voice drama tracks.

FuRyu describes the game:

Following the events of 2019’s CRYSTAR and 2023’s CRYMACHINA, CRYMELIGHT follows a young girl known only as “Alice” after she wakes up with no memories of her past and discovers she must journey to the lowest layer of Purgatory to earn her “Rebirth.” Alice must set out from the Tea Party Hall, defeat enemies born from the depths of madness, and confess and confront the sins she has committed, undergoing immense emotional growth in the process.

In the game, players travel between the “Wonderland” realm and “The Tea Party” realm. “Wonderland” is a prison where souls of the dead are held captive, and “The Tea Party” is a sanctuary that offers “respite to young girls burdened by their sins.”

Naoki Hisaya is the plot and story supervisor, and is returning from previous entries in the CRY series. Other returning staff members from previous entries include composer Sakuzyo and animator RIRI Yamashita. YOGISYA is the character designer.

ANOMALITH is an anomaly horror survival game, and FuRyu will release the game for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam on October 29. Winning Entertainment Group (formerly Natsume Atari) is developing the game.

The company describes the game:

The year 19**; Spatial anomalies known as “Otherworlds” have appeared without warning. The government’s “Danger Zone Countermeasures Office” has been unsuccessful in repelling the threat and determining its origin. Players take control of investigator Reona Minazuki, who has been awakened from a 10-year slumber inside an anomaly known as the “Sarcophogus” and acquired a keen sensitivity to the Otherworlds. Working alongside her colleagues and commanding officers, Reona strives not only to protect humanity but help a dear friend.

Humanity Has Declined creator Romeo Tanaka is writing the scenario, Elden Ring and Witch Hat Atelier composer Yuka Kitamura is composing the soundtrack, and MON (NisiOisin‘s Legends series) is designing the characters.

The “hyper shinobi battle” game features character designs by Nan Yaegashi. The game will be free to play with optional paid in-game items.

The new game is set three years after the events of the Shinobi Master Senran Kagura New Link smartphone game with a new cast of Shinobi girls at a new school.

Marvelous and Honey∞Parade Games’ Shinobi Master Senran Kagura New Link smartphone game launched in November 2017 and ended service in May 2025. The game then transitioned to an offline version.

Shueisha Games and developer iMel announced on Friday the video game adaptation of Honobu Yonezawa‘s Seasons of Books and Keys novel that will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in winter 2026.

The company streamed an announcement trailer for the game and launched a Steam page.

Kazuki Ura plays Jiro Horikawa in the fully voiced game and Yūichirō Umehara voices Shimon Matsukura.

Shueisha Games describes the game’s story:

Two male high school library committee members find themselves drawn into a series of unlikely cases: a safe that refuses to open, the theft of exam questions, the last book read by an upperclassman who took their own life, and a secret their own partner has been keeping. What begins as small mysteries tucked into ordinary school days slowly opens the door to someone’s secrets and lies.
Players step into the role of Jiro Horikawa, one half of the duo, listening to each request that comes into the library and threading the small inconsistencies together until the door to the truth opens.

The truth behind each client, the secret his partner keeps, and where the friendship between the two boys finally leads: it all waits inside.

Yonezawa wrote an all-new original episode titled “Used Kitan” for the game. Yōko Tanji, the illustrator for the original novel series, designed the characters for the game.

The game will be available with Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles.

The game is a “drama-like adventure,” a genre that Shueisha Games and iMel built for this title. The genre is meant to combine “the act of reading a story with the act of watching one.”

Seasons of Books and Keys is the first volume of Yoneawa’s “Library Committee Series,” which has more than 400,000 copies in print.

Yonezawa is perhaps best known for his Kotenbu (Classic Literature Club) novel series that began with Hyōka, the first novel, in 2001. The Credit Roll of the Fool (Gusha no Endroll) novel then followed in 2002, The Kudryavka Sequence (Kudryavka no Junban) in 2005, The Doll that Took a Detour (Toomawari Suru Hiyoko) in 2007, Approximating the Distance Between Two People (Futari no Kyori no Gaisan) in 2010, and Imasara Tsubasa o Iwaretemo in November 2016.

Kyoto Animation and late director Yasuhiro Takemoto adapted some of the stories in the series into a 22-episode television anime series titled Hyōka in 2012. The novels also inspired a manga in Kadokawa‘s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine.

Yonezawa wrote the Shōshimin mystery novel series that has had several manga adaptations, including Anko Manjūya‘s Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken (The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart). SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary, the television anime of the mystery novel series, premiered in July 2024 with its second season releasing in April 2025.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa‘s live-action film adaptation of Yonezawa’s The Samurai and the Prisoner (Kokurōjō) samurai historical mystery novel opened in Japan on June 19, and ranked at #2 in its opening weekend. The film opened in the United States in New York and Los Angeles first on Friday, before opening in other locations starting in August. Yonezawa and Kadokawa published the novel in June 2021. Yen Press released the novel in English.

The anime will debut in spring 2027.

Ken Takahashi (Ragna Crimson, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) is directing the anime. Japanese studio Candy Box (Blue Archive The Animation, Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!) is producing the anime. Sus4 Inc. (Ragna Crimson) is producing the music.

The anime is planned to be broadcast and streamed worldwide. Kadokawa and Garena are co-producing the anime. Kadokawa‘s Kadokawa Qingyu subsidiary is the production manager.

Garena Free Fire is a third-person shooter game. Like other games in the battle royale genre, players are dropped into a large island alongside dozens of other players, collecting supplies and weapons as they go. The objective of the game is to be the last person standing, varying strategies between actively hunting down other players, or attempting to hide as other players eliminate each other.

Garena debuted Garena Free Fire in December 2017. Sensor Tower’s data.ai website puts the game as the world’s most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021, and the most downloaded mobile battle royale in 2022 and 2023. The game had 100 million daily active users in February 2024.
