The 3 Best Movies to Watch on Paramount+ This Week
Greetings, indecisive Paramount+ watcher. Need some help picking what to watch this week?
There aren’t a ton of new releases hitting the streamer this week, which means our recommendations are primarily going to be a bit older gems. From a rom-com with an absurdly large cast, to a beloved musical, to an absolutely insane western that feels like a fever dream more often than not, hopefully there’s something for everyone here.
Here are the three best movies to watch on Paramount+ this week.

He’s Just Not That Into You
At any given time, in any given place in this world, someone probably needs to hear the message that is “He’s Just Not That Into You.”
Is this movie peak cinema? No, certainly not. But it is among the better “weirdly huge ensemble, all with somehow interconnecting storylines” movies. The cast boasts an enormous ensemble that includes Justin Long, Scarlett Johansson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck, all trying to navigate their romantic lives.
It’s mostly just fun, and right now, you shouldn’t be saying no to a little harmless fun.

Wild Wild West
Once upon a time in Hollywood, we had steampunk westerns, starring Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh and Salma Hayek. If that feels like a mad libs of a sentence, it’s because it is, and that’s the exact reason you should revisit this movie. I promise, there’s likely very little you remember from this movie, which might make it feel like you’re watching for the first time.
The story follows two government agents in the American Old West, a few years after the Civil War. Their goal is to protect President Ulysses S. Grant and the United States from a mad scientist bent on revenge for losing said war. Like I said, Mad Libs. And, in addition to a bonkers story, one thing you probably do remember about this film is the song that accompanies it.
Go bonkers this week. You deserve it.

Grease
It’s back-to-school time, and it wouldn’t take much of an argument to classify “Grease” as a back-to-school movie, considering it literally kicks off at the end of summer and the start of a new school year.
Musicals are almost always a feel-good experience, and “Grease” also opens the possibility of educating your kids or nieces/nephews about a truly classic film. It stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta as somewhat star-crossed lovers, who have to figure out how to navigate life when they run into their summer fling at school.
Sure, it’s not an awesome message when Sandy (Newton-John) changes nearly everything about herself in order to keep her man and friends in the end. But we can acknowledge that while also coasting through the heat lap trials.

Joe Scarborough Slams Pete Hegseth Over Navy Mistreatment
“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough slammed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth‘s leadership Thursday morning amid mistreatment reports regarding a carrier’s worth of long-deployed U.S. sailors, calling it “insane by any measure.”
The Military Times reported this week about the conditions the sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln are being subjected to on the vessel, which has been deployed for over eight months while supporting U.S. military operations against Iran in the Middle East. The carrier’s deployment began on Nov. 21, 2025, and its mission has been extended with no public return date yet announced.
Sailors’ loved ones have repeatedly expressed concerns about their family members’ long work days, food shortages, contaminated water supplies, moldy showers and declining reserves of toothpaste, deodorant, soap and basic hygiene supplies. Those concerns pile on top of worries about the mental health of those who remain aboard the vessel, following reports of multiple sailors attempting or going through with jumping overboard.
“This is what happens when you have a defense secretary that’s obsessed [with] the color of people’s skin, whether somebody is a man or a woman, testosterone levels, this obsession over DEI. That’s all we ever hear about,” Scarborough said in response to the reports. “What we’re not hearing about is, well, the basics.”
“This doesn’t have anything to do with toughness or this or that or the other,” he added. “There are normal rotations. This is insane by any measure at all.”
Scarborough continued to slam the Department of Defense for its treatment of the sailors in question, as well as the ongoing munition concerns that have begun to plague the United States’ side of the Iran War.
“We have our sailors being treated like third-class citizens, treated like trash, actually. We’re not taking care of job one, which is, again, military readiness,” Scarborough recapped. “We’re not even able to keep count of the munitions that we have. Pete Hegseth’s DOD has run out of munitions to fight a hot war with Iran that Pete Hegseth told the president we should start.”
“He’s sitting around talking about testosterone levels and doing all these stupid promo videos that are supposed to make him look tough,” the “Morning Joe” host added of the defense secretary. “He wants to worry about social issues and social policies inside the Pentagon instead of making sure we have the munitions we need and making sure that our military men and women are ready for warfare and they get sane, rational rotations.”
Scarborough later questioned Hegseth’s continued presence within the Trump administration after MS NOW co-host Jonathan Lemire said the defense secretary remains in good standing with the president.
“Why? I mean, this is a guy that’s caused problems time and time again,” Scarborough remarked. “Any other Secretary of Defense would have been fired by now, and I’m not sure why he’s still there.”

Kennedy Center Votes Again To Close Most Of Complex For Renovations
The Trump-controlled Kennedy Center board voted once again to close the arts institution for renovations, after a judge rejected a previous move to shutter the complex because it did not fully consider the scope of options and their impacts.
At a meeting on Thursday, the board approved a plan in which the main complex would be shuttered but a newer extension, called the Reach, would still offer limited programming and as a memorial to John F. Kennedy, according to a source familiar with the deliberations.
The board will still have to submit its action to U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, who previously ruled that the closure plan needed to consider other factors, including programming. Cooper wrote that the board was “derelict” and “based its decision on an insufficient, one-sided presentation of information and neglected to consider the full range of its statutory obligations and potential adverse consequences of closure on programming and memorial functions.”
In the same ruling, the judge ruled that the board overstepped its authority by adding Trump’s name to the center, ordering that it be taken down from its facade, website and other materials. A crew removed the lettering from the front of the complex in an overnight operation in June, but left up a tarp that now conceals much of the original name, The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
The center is appealing the judge’s ruling.
The New York Times first reported on the board vote.
Congress appropriated $257 million in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for Kennedy Center repairs and renovations. In February, Trump announced the plan to close the complex during the overhaul, and the board, in which he leads as chairman, endorsed the proposal the next month. But Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) sued the center over the name change and the closure, arguing that it failed to fully account for the impact on programming, among other things. The plan also was approved amid declining attendance and a number of artists pulling out of shows after the name change.
More to come.
