The Fairview, Texas, home of Dallas Cowboys All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was burglarized on July 31 while he was away at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif., according to police.

At around 1:20 p.m. that Friday, according to a statement released by the Fairview Police Department, officers responded to reports of a burglary at a home they determined was owned by Lamb. Officers met with representatives of Lamb, who identified an apparent entrance and exit point as a broken window on the side of the house.

Police suspect a single suspect.

“Evidence obtained at the scene and surrounding area indicates a single suspect entered and exited through the window,” the statement said. “Several high-end personal items belonging to Mr. Lamb were taken from the home.

“The Fairview Police Department is actively pursuing all leads in this ongoing investigation, working alongside area law enforcement partners to identify and apprehend the suspect. This remains an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time.”

The Cowboys declined to comment on this incident.

According to police records obtained by The Athletic, four luxury bags totaling more than $300,000 were stolen. The broken window was discovered by a construction worker, who was doing a perimeter inspection; there is ongoing construction on the northeast side of the property, according to the records.

When the robbery occurred, Lamb was in the midst of a 26-day training camp stay in Southern California, where the Cowboys were from July 27 to Aug. 21.

Several high-profile NFL players have been victims of burglaries in recent years, including Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce also had their homes burglarized, as did Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Braves’ Ha-Seong Kim walks off Dodgers with first hit MLB hit since June 3

Looking to gain ground in the National League playoff picture, the Atlanta Braves turned to an unlikely candidate to upend the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday night.

With two out and the game-winning run on second base, Braves manager Walt Weiss turned to his bench and elected to pinch-hit Ha-Seong Kim, owner of an .066 average, with just five hits over 76 plate appearances this season. Kim would face Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott, who leads the team with 19 saves and became the de facto closer this season for Los Angeles due to Edwin Díaz’s multiple injuries.

Kim quickly got ahead of Scott, who misfired three straight four-seamers to fall behind 3-0. But Scott battled back, pumping in a fastball for a called strike one before Kim fouled off a second heater for a full count. Kim fouled off two more, before connecting on Scott’s eighth straight fastball. His sharp single to left was more than enough to allow the speedy Lane Thomas to score from second base, walking the Braves off 6-5 and securing a key series victory over the back-to-back champions.

The Braves came into the series trailing the Dodgers by 3 1/2 games in the National League standings. They’ve now made up two games in two days thanks to back-to-back late-inning comebacks. That it was Kim who was the hero Wednesday night was nothing short of shocking. Injuries have marred his season. Kim’s last base hit in the majors came June 3 vs. the Toronto Blue Jays. He was 0-for his last 27 coming into his pinch-hit appearance.

The Braves (78-55) will look to sweep the Dodgers in a showdown of the aces Thursday, with Chris Sale tabbed to take on Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
