Toonami Airs Wind Breaker, Gachiakuta Anime – News

Adult Swim‘s Toonami programming block revealed on Friday that it will air both the Wind Breaker and Gachiakuta anime in the United States starting on October 10 and 17, repsectively (effectively, October 11 and 18). The block will also add the Get Jiro! animated series on October 10.

The schedule for October 17 is (all times EDT):

12:00 a.m. – Get Jiro!

12:30 a.m. – Wind Breaker

1:00 a.m. – Gachiakuta

1:30 a.m. – One Piece

2:00 a.m. – IGPX

2:30 a.m. – Lazarus

3:00 a.m. – Blue Exorcist

3:30 a.m. – Get Jiro! (replay)

The television anime of Satoru Nii‘s Wind Breaker manga anime adaptation premiered in April 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, and it is also streaming an English dub. The second anime season debuted in April 2025. Crunchyroll also streamed the season as it aired, and also streams an English dub.

The television anime of Kei Urana‘s Gachiakuta manga premiered in Japan in July 2025 on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Crunchyroll is also streaming an English dub for the series. The anime will get a second season.

Japanese cosplay/apparel brand Cospa and the hit anime series Goodbye, Lara revealed on September 17 that the Siga sweatshirt and T-shirt seen in the anime series are coming to life. The merchandise will be available in early December.

Cospa later announced in a press release that the Siga sweatshirt and T-shirts will come in Japanese S to XL sizes and are made of 100% cotton. The Siga sweatshirt is priced at 6,820 yen and the Siga t-shirt at 3,300 yen (about US$43 and US$21, respectively). Both will be available on the online Cospa shop.

The Goodbye, Lara anime series tells a tale like Hans Christian Andersen‘s The Little Mermaid. The story follows a mermaid who makes a forbidden wish to be loved by a human. Following her death, she is reborn 200 years later into modern-day Japan in Lake Biwa, where she learns to adjust in a human world. Lake Biwa is in Shiga Prefecture, which is also where director Takushi Koide‘s hometown is located.

The series started airing on July 5 at 24:30 (effectively July 6 at 12:30 a.m.) on the Tokyo MX channel, before running later that night on BS Asahi and YTV. The anime also ran on AT-X starting on July 6. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Goodbye, Lara premiered early at the Anime Central convention on May 15.

‘Keroro Gunsou☆’ Announces Additional Cast

The official X account for the new television anime adaptation of Mine Yoshizaki‘s Keroro Gunsou (Sgt. Frog) manga announced three additional cast members on Saturday. The anime series premiered on October 3 at 9:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo.

Cast

Angol Mois: Kana Ichinose (Sousou no Frieren)

Aki Hinata: Chiwa Saitou (Keroro Gunsou)

Narrator: Satomi Arai (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu)

Toshihiko Sano (Farmagia) is directing the new anime at Bandai Namco Pictures. Toshimitsu Takeuchi (Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to) is handling the series composition and Hatsue Nakayama (Fairy Tail: Final Series guest character design) is designing the characters. Kan Sawada (Yowamushi Pedal) is composing the music.

Yoshizaki began drawing the manga in Shounen Ace in November 1999. Kadokawa published the 35th volume in December 2025. VIZ Media licensed the manga under its VIZ Select imprint for digital release in English in December 2014.

Produced by Sunrise, a television adaptation of the manga aired in 358 episodes from Spring 2004 to Spring 2011. The Keroro short television anime premiered in Spring 2014.

The first movie adaptation of the series premiered in Japanese theatres in March 2006, followed by Keroro Gunsou Movie 2 in 2007, Keroro Gunsou Movie 3 in 2008, Keroro Gunsou Movie 4 in 2009, Keroro Gunsou Movie 5 in 2010, and Keroro Gunsou Movie 6 on June 26.
