JH’s The Boxer Webtoon Gets TV Anime – News

New Japanese anime studio breccia, Korean animation studio Studio Jemi to animated series


Crunchyroll announced at its panel at New York Comic Con on Thursday that JH’s The Boxer webtoon is getting a television anime adaptation from new Japanese anime studio breccia and Korean animation studio Studio Jemi.


breccia is a new anime studio founded by Kinema Citrus founding member and producer Muneki Ogasawara.

Takehiro Kubota (My Happy Marriage anime franchise) and Won Yeong Kang (Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress, Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress key animator and main animator) are both directing the anime. Masahiro Suwa (The Rising of The Shield Hero anime franchise) is designing the characters, and Toshiya Ono (86, The Promised Neverland, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga) is both overseeing and writing the series scripts. BLUE RIGHTS is the creative producer. HAYATE Inc., the new anime production venture from Aniplex and Crunchyroll, is producing the anime. Co-producers include LINE Manga, Crunchyroll, XTORM, and BLUE RIGHTS.

WEBTOON has released the complete series in English digitally. Ize Press is also releasing the series in print in English, and it describes the story:

While searching for a final prodigy to train, legendary boxing coach K stumbles across a bewildering scene—an apathetic teenager simply standing still as his bullies throttle him. But Coach K sees more than this, sees the precision, grace, and uncanny perceptiveness in the boy’s movements. He knows right away that this is the fighter he’s been waiting for. Yet when he tries to recruit him, the boy with the lifeless eyes only asks one question: “Is it any fun? Hitting people…Is it fun?”

The series originally launched on Naver Webtoon in Korea in 2019. The series has more than 1.06 billion views globally as of September, and won an award at the World Webtoon Awards in 2024.

Ji-hoon Jeong (penname JH) is also known for the The Horizon webtoon, which WEBTOON released in English digitally and Yen Press released in print. The series was honored with the Yellow Kid “Book of the Year” award at Italy’s Lucca Comics & Games festival in November 2025.

JH launched the Umbilical webtoon in December, and it is his first new series in three years since the conclusion of The Boxer.

Madoka Magica -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- Anime Film Screens in N. America on January 16-19 – News

Aniplex of America and Fathom Entertainment revealed at New York Comic Con on Thursday that they will screen Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising (Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), the official sequel to the Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion film, in theaters in North America on January 16 to 19. The screenings will be available in both Japanese audio with English subtitles, as well as an English dub. Tickets go on sale on December 11.

In addition to the English version of the film’s second key visual (seen above), Aniplex of America also unveiled an exclusive key visual for the film (seen below) by Australian artist Namie (Fate/Grand Order, Arknights).

In addition, Aniplex of America also revealed that it will release Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings, Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion in Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc with Dolby Atmos audio. The release will include exclusive new cover art by Junichirō Taniguchi, and will be available on October 15 on the Crunchyroll Store and MediaOCD store.

Additionally, the three films in the trilogy will additionally start streaming on Crunchyroll on November 8 and on Netflix on January 2. The movies will add Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese dubs on Crunchyroll on November 15.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising opened in theaters on August 28. The film got IMAX screenings in Japan on the same day it opened.

The film ranked at #1 in its opening weekend. The film sold 535,000 tickets and and earned 939,647,100 yen (about US$5.95 million) in its first three days.

Yukihiro Miyamoto (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, Arakawa Under the Bridge) directed the film.

Shion Wakayama voices the new magical girl Shichōka and Tomoyo Kurosawa voices Selma Therese. Maaya Sakamoto plays the unnamed upperclassman, or Wasu, who looks like Homura but nobody knows her true name or identity.

The anime film features a returning staff from the original anime series and films, including original creators Magica Quartet, chief director Akiyuki Simbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, original character designer Ume Aoki, animation character designer Junichirō Taniguchi, composer Yuki Kajiura, alternate space designer Gekidan Inu Curry, and animation studio SHAFT.

Yuki Kajiura‘s solo project FictionJunction performs the theme song “Kanata.”

Berserk of Gluttony 2nd Season Anime Reveals Teaser Video, New Director, Returning Cast & Staff – News

The staff for the second season of the television anime of Ichika Isshiki and fame‘s Berserk of Gluttony (Bōshoku no Berserk: Ore Dake Level to Iu Gainen wo Toppa Suru) light novel series revealed the teaser promotional video, and confirmed the returning cast and staff members, and new director, on Friday. Crunchyroll will stream the second season.


First season director Tetsuya Yanagisawa is the second season’s overall director, and Kenichi Ishikura (D.C.III ~Da Capo III~, Sakura Trick) is directing the new season at ACGT. Mariko Kunisawa returns to write the series scripts, and Takafumi Furusawa is again designing the characters.

The anime’s second season will debut in 2027.

Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing both the novel series and its manga adaptation in English, and it describes the story:

Fate Graphite is one of the forsaken. Cursed with the skill “Gluttony,” he is ever starving, never sated…until the day he kills a dying thief and devours the man’s strength—and his soul. The true hunger of Fate’s Gluttony has awakened, and if he can learn to control his power, he will at last be the master of his own destiny.

The anime’s first season debuted in October 2023. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and also streams an English dub.

After releasing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō service, Isshiki launched the first novel volume with illustrations by fame in November 2017. Micro Magazine is also releasing the novels in a larger bunko format. Daisuke Takino launched the manga adaptation on Micro Magazine‘s Comic Ride website in April 2018.

Here U Are Anime Reveals 2nd Teaser Trailer – News

Crunchyroll revealed during its panel at the New York Comic Con 2026 on Thursday the second teaser trailer for the anime adaptation of D JUN‘s Here U Are webtoon. The video features a score by the anime’s musical composer and Japanese pianist Shinya Kiyozuka.

Crunchyroll will stream the anime and describes the story:

Yang Yu is a university upperclassman who’s loved by everyone, and Huan Li is a quiet, antisocial new student. The two of them get off on the wrong foot, but despite clashing and repelling one another at times, they are still drawn to each other.

The anime stars Yūki Inoue as Yang Yu and Ryōta Suzuki as Huan Li.

Tomoe Makino (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) will direct the anime at Rouseact. Aiki Kawamura is handling the series composition. Asami Hayakawa is designing the characters. Shinya Kiyozuka is composing the music.

The webtoon originally debuted in 2017, and it ended in 2020. Aloha Comics releases the series in English. The webtoon is also available on WEBTOON.

The webtoon has over 390 million total views worldwide as of April 2026.
