The “NARUTO: What’s Next?” panel at New York Comic Con announced on Saturday that Masashi Kishimoto will launch a new manga in his Naruto franchise. The below video teases a possible title: Shadow Rising Naruto (or Naruto Shadow Rising). More details will be revealed at the Jump Festa ’27 event, which will take place on December 19-20.

Kishimoto launched the Naruto ninja manga in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1999, and ended the series in November 2014. Manga storywriter Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto launched the Boruto sequel manga in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2016, and the manga ran monthly in the magazine. The manga transferred to V Jump in July 2019. Kishimoto replaced Kodachi as the manga’s storywriter in November 2020, starting with the manga’s 52nd chapter.

The manga went on hiatus in April 2023 and returned with the title Boruto: Two Blue Vortex in August 2023. The series is ongoing.
