‘Artificial’s Ike Barinholtz On His “Menacing” Elon Musk Performance
As Luca Guadagnino explored the rise of AI in Artificial, Ike Barinholtz explored the psyche of Elon Musk with his portrayal of the OpenAI co-founder.
While discussing how he got into character as Musk, the actor explained what made his performance “menacing” but also “a little ridiculous” in the Neon film, which premieres Christmas Day in US theaters, starring Andrew Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
“Well, the good news is, I got to play him in an era where he was really kind of looked at as the next Tony Stark,” he told Discussing Film. “But I had to do these scenes that are him kind of behind the curtain a little bit, so there’s not like tape on it and stuff.”
Barinholtz added, “So, we tried to make something that felt menacing to the people in the room, but as you pull out 37,000 feet down, looking down, it does seem a little ridiculous.”
Penned by Simon Rich, Artificial centers around the controversial firing and subsequent rehiring of Altman by OpenAI’s board of directors within a span of five days in November 2023.
The cast also includes Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro, Cooper Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman, Chris O’Dowd, Mark Rylance, Zosia Mamet, Cooper Koch and Billie Lourd.

Robert Pattinson Approached ‘Primetime’ Chris Hansen Portrayal As “A Fan”
Although Chris Hansen has made clear that the feeling is not mutual, Primetime‘s Robert Pattinson has confessed he’s a fan of the To Catch a Predator host.
Following Hansen’s ongoing criticism of the Lance Oppenheim-helmed film, which is now playing in theaters, Pattinson explained that he “was trying to make [Hansen] look cool” in the Ajon Singh-penned A24 movie, which was based on a 2007 Esquire article by Luke Dittrich.
“I mean, it’s weird. I was trying to make him cool. He is cool. I’m a fan,” Pattinson told ET. “I think in some ways, it’s an aesthetic thing; what I think is cool might not be cool to other people.”
While Hansen has accused the film of capitalizing on his name, Pattinson noted that he’s seen the film introducing the Dateline alum to a whole new generation of fans.
“From the screeners we’ve gone to, I think it’s amazing when you see really, really young audiences and people turning up dressed as Chris Hansen,” he said. “Everybody’s doing Chris Hansen impressions, and they’re gonna be putting Chris Hansen posters on their walls.”
Pattinson continued, “I think it’s kind of awesome, and it’s at the same age that I discovered him. And then [they] go back, and look at his work, and rediscover or discover all the important work he’s doing as well.”
Before giving his official review of Primetime, Hansen has gone on a public rollercoaster of reactions to the project, including contemplating legal action and purchasing ad space before upcoming screenings of the movie to promote his true-crime streaming network TruBlu, where he continues his sting investigations.
Now in theaters, Primetime follows Chris Hansen (Pattinson) as he attempts to make television history with NBCs To Catch a Predator (2004-’07), a hidden camera show that set up stings for adult men seeking sex from minors online.

Noah Centineo Praises ‘Street Fighter’ Stunt Coordinator
To outlast the best and bring Street Fighter to the big screen, stunt coordinator John Valera paid close attention to the combat styles in the video game.
Noah Centineo, who plays Ken Masters in the Paramount adaptation of the Capcom video game, which premieres Oct. 16 in Imax, credited Valera with capturing the “different fighting styles” of the game’s many characters.
“Every character comes from a different background, pretty much, right?” he explained to GamesRadar+. “So there’s like over almost 150 characters, all the different backgrounds, different fighting styles, and John Valera, our stunt coordinator, had to research for every character and every fight that they were in their specific fighting style.”
Centineo added, “Yes, the signature moves in the game [are in the movie], so that he could make them fight against each other in their signature styles, in their specific fighting styles. Meticulous attention was paid to detail, and I think it’s really a triumph. The movie has insane fights, and every character is brutal.”
Co-written and directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter also stars Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Don Lee as Gouken, Orville Peck as Vega and more.
Based on the video game series that launched in 1987, the latest Street Fighter adaptation comes after Jean-Claude Van Damme led the 1994 live-action movie, followed by 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, starring Kristin Kreuk.
