In her message, dated October 13, 2026, Iwami shared that as this was her first experience, she carried some anxieties — but that both she and her baby have settled down and are doing well. She apologized for any inconvenience connected to her pregnancy and childbirth, and expressed deep gratitude for the warmth, consideration, and support shown to her by everyone around her.
A Message of Gratitude
Addressing her fans directly, Iwami thanked them for enjoying her work and for continuing to support her personally with such kindness, calling their presence an irreplaceable treasure in her life. She closed by saying she hopes to keep expressing gratitude for the connections made through her work, and to keep growing both as a person and as an actress — humbly asking for everyone’s continued support.
A Career Full of Beloved Roles
Iwami’s voice has defined some of recent anime’s most memorable characters, including Akane Kurokawa in Oshi no Ko, Mahiru Shiina in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, Rice Shower in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket (2019), Maquia in Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, Amber in Genshin Impact, and Kou Reirin in Though I Am an Inept Villainess, among many others.
Her talent has not gone unrecognized by fans either: she won the Winter 2023 Seiyuu of the Season poll for her performances as Mahiru Shiina and as Euphyllia Magenta in The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady. Congratulations to Iwami on the wonderful news — and here is to whatever roles come next.
Marriage and childbirth announcements from voice actors often come with a pause in activities, but Iwami’s message struck a forward-looking tone, emphasizing her intent to keep growing as both a person and an actress. With a resume spanning blockbuster anime, films, and games, she remains one of the most in-demand voices of her generation — and fans will be watching for her next roles as eagerly as ever.
