Manga creator namo revealed on social media Friday that their manga The Coppersmith’s Bride (Cuprum no Hanayome) will end in three chapters, including the upcoming chapter in the October 15 issue of Kadokawa’s Harta magazine. If there are no delays, the series will conclude in December.

A Cozy Romance With a Ring to It

The Coppersmith’s Bride tells the story of Shiina, a college freshman enjoying a cozy life in Niigata Prefecture while dating her coppersmith boyfriend Shuu. She has grown used to the rhythmic sound of his hammer and even nicknames him the “smithing nut” for his obsession with his workshop — but she is completely unprepared when a sudden proposal arrives out of nowhere.

Barely out of high school, is she ready for the next step? And more importantly, can she really hack marrying into a prestigious smithing family? That question has driven the manga’s gentle, heartfelt romance for years.

Six Years in Harta

The manga launched in Harta in May 2020, meaning its run will wrap up at just over six years. Kadokawa published the manga’s eighth compiled book volume on May 15.

English-speaking readers can follow the series through J-Novel Club, which released the seventh volume in English on June 3. The manga is also available digitally on Crunchyroll Manga.

With only three chapters left, fans should savor the final installments of this warm, craft-filled love story.

The series found its audience with readers who appreciate slow, sincere romance built on small everyday moments — the clink of a hammer, the smell of a workshop, the nervousness of young love. In a manga landscape often dominated by high-concept premises, The Coppersmith’s Bride stood out precisely because it was about something so grounded: two young people and the craft that defines one of their families.

Harta has been home to some of the most distinctive manga of the past decade, and namo’s series fit right into that tradition of quietly excellent storytelling. Ending on the creator’s own terms, with a planned three-chapter conclusion, is the best possible outcome for a series like this.
