CRIMSON TECHNOLOGY has announced that Edgar Crow, a new original character voiced by Hiroaki Hirata, is now available on the Voidol UNLIMITED subscription service. Users can now transform their voices into the pirate hero’s deep, commanding tone in real time.

Edgar — known as the “Crimson Crow” — is a rugged, charismatic pirate captain in his prime, standing 182 cm tall. Freedom-loving and usually wearing a confident smile, he turns ruthless the moment anyone threatens his crew, warning them: “Are you prepared for the consequences?” Armed with razor-sharp swordsmanship honed through countless battles and a brilliant tactical mind, he commands the seas aboard his pitch-black flagship, the Black Crow.
A Voice Acting Veteran at the Helm
Hirata brings serious weight to the role. After working with Theatre Company Subaru, he established himself as a leading voice actor with major roles including Sanji in One Piece, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi in Tiger & Bunny, and Mutta Nanba in Space Brothers. He is also widely recognized as the Japanese voice of Johnny Depp — most famously as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films — and has dubbed numerous other foreign films.
His trophy shelf is just as stacked: he received the Voice Actor Award at the 11th Tokyo Anime Award and the Best Actor Award at the 6th Seiyu Awards.
What Is Voidol UNLIMITED?
Voidol UNLIMITED is a subscription-based real-time voice conversion service offering a diverse lineup of voice models — based on voice actors, characters, and original voices — aimed at helping creators and streamers express their ideas. The platform plans to keep adding new voice models, and Edgar Crow’s mature, swashbuckling presence is a strong addition to the roster.
Voice conversion software has found a devoted audience among VTubers, streamers, and indie creators, and Voidol’s strategy of adding named, personality-driven characters — rather than generic voices — sets it apart. Edgar Crow is clearly designed to stand out in that lineup: a swashbuckling pirate with a veteran voice actor behind him is the kind of addition that markets itself. Expect more character drops from CRIMSON TECHNOLOGY as the service keeps expanding.
