By CORTIS member James has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. A resurfaced clip showing the bottom of his bare feet in the group’s dorm has fans joking that the HYBE rookie group is officially “funky.”

James’ Dirty Feet Steal The Spotlight
Earlier this year, CORTIS shared a behind-the-scenes video for their track “TNT”. The footage showed the members tidying up their dorm — but viewers were distracted by something else entirely. As James walked around barefoot, the soles of his feet appeared dark and visibly dirty.
The moment might have faded into obscurity if fans had not dug it back up. This week, TikTok edits celebrating James’ birthday on October 14 recirculated the clip, and the comments section quickly filled with fans joking about the idol’s hygiene. While many found the situation funny, others admitted the sight genuinely gave them “the ick.”
CORTIS’ Running Hygiene ‘Scandals’
This is not the first time the group’s cleanliness has become a talking point. Since debuting in August 2025, CORTIS has been one of the most discussed rookie groups in K-pop — and their dorm habits keep coming up.
Member Juhoon previously went viral over the state of his bed sheets and room, with photos of his messy dorm spreading online. The group as a whole has been teased repeatedly for their lifestyle, and James’ foot clip has only added fuel to the fire.
Fans Find It Funny, Not Serious
Despite the disgusted reactions, most fans are treating the whole thing as lighthearted fun. Comments under the TikTok videos are dominated by jokes about the group being “funky,” with many pointing out that idols are just regular people — and regular people sometimes walk around with dirty feet.
That said, the saga has become something of a meme within the fandom. With two hygiene incidents already on record, fans are half-jokingly bracing for whoever in CORTIS becomes the next “scandal” of the dorm.
