The announcement came from Muto’s official business page, billing it as “a dream pairing of Japanese and American superstars.” The livestream will air via TwitCasting Premier, kicking off at 4:00 p.m. on October 19, with the show promising stories you won’t hear anywhere else — including fan questions and comments during the broadcast.
A Decade on the World Stage
The promotional copy frames the event around ten years on the world stage for Nakamura, and the past, present, and future of pro wrestling across Japan and America. The two are expected to discuss their legendary clash — The Great Muta vs. Nakamura, a match that became a modern classic — along with what they think of each other, what it means to make it overseas, and behind-the-scenes stories they can finally tell.
Where Nakamura Stands Now
Nakamura currently features on the WWE SmackDown brand, where he’s teaming with five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion KYOKI, a.k.a. Hiromu Takahashi. Muto, meanwhile, remains one of the most decorated Japanese wrestlers ever, his career spanning decades from NJPW and WCW to NOAH and WWE’s Hall of Fame — making this talk a meeting of two eras of puroresu royalty.
