By Bandai Namco Filmworks has revealed two more cast members for Mahō no Shimai Lulutto Lilly (Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly), the magical girl television anime it is producing with Studio Pierrot. Both new characters will debut in the show’s 15th episode on October 18.

The newcomers are Hirofumi Nojima, who voices Umezō, an inhabitant of the magical country Felix Star, and Shōgo Yano, who plays Tachibana, an actor cast as the headmaster’s son in the drama that Lilly and Rin are filming within the story. They join a second-cour cast that already includes Miyari Nemoto as Asahi Araki, Yusuke Shirai as Mucchi, and Yūko Natsuyoshi as Shiromofu.
Two cours of magical sisterhood
The anime’s first part premiered on April 5 across Tokyo MX, ABC TV, TV Aichi, BS NTV, and AT-X, and it is running for two cours with a break in between. The second part kicked off on October 4. Internationally, the series streams on Ani-One and Bahamut in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, on Anime Generation and Man-ga in Italy, on Anime Box in Spain, and on Tubi in the United States and Canada.
Bandai Namco Filmworks has also been streaming full episodes for free on its YouTube channel since April 18, starting with English subtitles in 16 languages. The episode count there has grown steadily — the 13th episode went up on October 10, and the subtitled lineup has now expanded to 26 languages, covering North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia.
A fresh sound for the second cour
The second part comes with new theme music. K-pop girl group ILLIT performs the opening theme “Swingin’ Magic,” while the in-universe idol unit Lulutto Lilly — the anime’s leads Lilly Konpeto (May Tachibana) and Lulu Mashū (Nao Ojika) — performs the ending theme “Dream a la Mode.”
The story follows sisters Fū and Rui, once close but now a little distant, who each stumble into magical powers — Fū after encountering a mysterious spaceship — and transform into the adults they dream of being. Their magic comes with two conditions: it can only be used for one year, and no one must ever learn their secret.
