Set during the transition from summer to fall, the film captures the witty, understated, and charming conversations shared by four pairs of men and women who cross paths at the same café — by day and by night.
Four Couples, One Café
The film weaves together four distinct romance arcs. Yoo Jin (Kim Min Ha) and Hyeon Oh (Joo Jong Hyuk) visit the café at different times of day, their chance connection unfolding like clockwork — literally, as the poster shows Yoo Jin holding a wristwatch to her ear while Hyeon Oh repairs its components.
Sang Mi (Han Sun Hwa) and Young Min (Chang Ryul) share an unexpected reunion, having attended the same private tutoring sessions in middle school. Meanwhile, Hye Jin (Shim Eun Kyung), a web novel writer whose work has garnered millions of views, has a fiery first meeting with Dong Nam (Lee Hee Joon), an indie filmmaker.
Bittersweet Farewells
The fourth story follows aspiring idol Na Kyeong (Jeon So Young) and her longtime boyfriend Jong Su (Kim Dong Hwi), capturing the unpolished yet heartfelt emotions of a couple facing their first breakup.
The poster teases all of these dynamics at once: Sang Mi’s calm, knowing expression, Young Min lost in thought, Hye Jin smiling over a cup of coffee while Dong Nam earnestly tries to persuade her, and the tender ache of Na Kyeong and Jong Su. Together, they offer a glimpse into the fleeting yet meaningful moments shared by those who pass through the same café by day and by night.
The Table: Day and Night premieres on November 4.
