Out Since September
World has been sidelined since early September, with her last match coming on the 9/9 edition of AEW Dynamite. The hiatus cut short what had been a standout run for her, including a 35-day reign as TBS Champion — a title run that ended at AEW All In, where Britt Baker cost her the match and aligned herself with current champion Persephone.
What Is Next For Maya World?
Her timing could not be more interesting. The TBS Title is on the line at WrestleDream, with Persephone defending it in a four-way against Queen Aminata, Dani Luna, and Hyan — who happens to be Maya World’s tag team partner. With World now medically cleared, fans are already speculating about whether she gets involved in the title picture sooner rather than later.
A cleared Maya World changes the landscape of AEW’s women’s division. She was rolling before the injury, and a title she never lost in a fair fight sits at the center of the story. Whether she goes straight after Persephone or builds back up through the ranks, her return is one of the most welcome sights of the WrestleDream weekend.
