The Portugal winger was the standout performer, threatening with a long-range effort before the break and then running Everton ragged after it. His opener came almost immediately after kick-off in the second half, catching Jordan Pickford off guard, before he killed the game late with his second.

Chelsea’s Defense Finally Holds Firm

It was a landmark afternoon for Chelsea’s back line, who kept their first clean sheet of the campaign. Maxence Lacroix was one of the best performers in blue, producing what was described as one of his finest displays since joining the club, and seeing a header cleared off the line at the other end.

Academy graduate Harrison Armstrong impressed for Everton, earning praise for a robust display that included clearing an effort off the line, while Thierno Barry endured a frustrating afternoon up front, spurning a first-half header.

Martinez Stretchered Off in Worrying Scenes

There was concern late on for Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who was carried off on a stretcher after a collision with Jarrad Branthwaite. The Argentina international had been booked earlier for time-wasting and will be assessed by the club’s medical staff.

Christian Norgaard made his Premier League debut for Everton off the bench but looked rusty, giving the ball away almost immediately and picking up a needless booking. The result keeps Chelsea’s momentum rolling as their unbeaten run of results away from home continues.
